Under the Current Release [Second Life 1.22.11 (113941) Mar 6 2009], Linden plants underwater look like this: Under the Release Candidate [Second Life 1.23.2 (120719) May 18 2009 09:43:42 (Second Life Release Candidate] client, Linden plants underwater look like this: This might be related to the vintage video card I use, an NVidia 7300. I don't know. All the graphic settings for both clients are the same. And everything under the Admin settings are default. Searched JIRA, but didn't see any reports of the same problem, so I should probably post there too. It's a small thing...but would like to sort it out.

Something has changed with the way Linden plants are rendered. I'm seeing the same thing. On land, the RenderTreeLODFactor debug setting doesn't seem to work anymore, either.

Are you both sure that you don't need to reload your Windlight settings? Up until the most recent release of the Standard Viewer, customised Windlight settings have always had to be reloaded in the Day Cycle Editor. Even if you do not use customised settings, the default settings may have been changed for this latest Release Candidate.

Plants are not flexible in the release candidate but we can make them work the old way. Does that make the extra details show up? I think there is less detail on flexible prims too. What happens if you turn on RenderAnimateTrees? Does it make sea weed look better?
