Logging on the otherday, I was horrified to find most of my house contents returned to my inventory, including the door to my home. The landscape looked terrible as if an earthquake had hit the Island. Message beside each item in returned items 'because if went of world'

Can someone pease explain this.

By any chance was your land set to allow anyone terraform?

Most of the sim got affected. The owner was unsure of what happened.

sounds to me like you got grief'd, try checking the parcels to see if any have build allowed and ask them to turn it off, or even get the estate owner to turn build off on and parcels for sale.

I've been seeing something similar a lot though. Apparently someone delights in flying around my estate look for parcels that are set for publicly edittable terrain and raising the land as high as they can. It's annoying and pointless but such is life.

I've never heard of it causing objects to get returned though. It may be because we limit terraforming to +/-5 or something similar on most sims.

if the ground is raised such that an objects center is more than a certain depth below the ground, it counts as offworld and gets returned.

If its not too late, the sim owner can request a rollback to before the griefer arrived - that should restore objects inworld and terrain. Then its time to go around switching off "anyone can terraform"
