The road map is the ninja kind! There are very dark links on the top of the blog page over the SL hand. Push the Browse link and then Communities on the little menu. That is the forum list. The one for restarts is called "UPGRADE - The Release Team Blog", it is in the Technology area.

You and M appear to share the same confusion ... the Blog area is not a forum, because residents cannot start threads there. Thanks - was thinking it was me that was being dumb - thought I must be missing something. The blogs are completely useless for the sorts of question and answer threads that we get here - blogs are for news, or maybe in Linden Labs' case more for controlling what the topics of the news are! |

In response to all the forum feedback, I just ask that you guys give it a chance, -and- some time. We've got some smart people working on the platform, and they are listening to your feedback.
In the mean time, if there's anything we can do to better facilitate information for Rolling Restarts, please let me know. One idea that's been kicked around is having Office Hours at a pilot region during the rolling restarts. |

It's been in beta for 8 months and we've seen none of the feedback we gave last summer addressed. There used to be a poll option there but it got removed. There used to be a Report Abuse thingie there but it got removed. It's hard to navigate. It's buggy. It's what Nika says below. How much patience should we have before we declare it to be crap? In the mean time, if there's anything we can do to better facilitate information for Rolling Restarts, please let me know. One idea that's been kicked around is having Office Hours at a pilot region during the rolling restarts. Pre-Lil, who is a he and not a she, I suggested several times that LL makes a web feed (or something) available that would give scripts or offline tools enough info to *guess* when a given region would be restarted. I guess this would require the type of roll you're doing, even/odds vs everything-goes-tonight!; what number you're on and the average/mean time that it's taking to do one region. And, of course, which one you're interested in. /me acknowledges that this probably could never provide more than a low-resolution time of when you expect a region to get restarted but it would be a step in the right direction. _____________________

Lil, be aware that except for SLA (where discussions are very limited) and the Commerce forums, there is no place on the site now where residents can start threads. So, from our standpoint, when this area is shut down later today, there will be no LL forums. *shrugs* Your World, Your Administration. . _____________________
