Mature Content

I'm getting really, really tired of the obvious MATURE content in the standard classifieds... Oh, and by the way, I'm also extremely offended by those silly rotating boxes on my neighbor's land advertising SEX BEDS... when I'm trying to design a "tasteful" resort.

Enough said.

OK first, if you are posting Mature content without a Mature tag....you are endangering the whole existance of Mature content in SL. The PGs have made it clear that they will censor the Mature if we can't keep our nudity and such out of their faces....so MARK YOUR S#!& AS MATURE!!!!

As for your neighbor selling sex beds, as long as there are no pictures of people having sex, I think you should deal with it. The word Sex is not profane. However, if there are people in action on said rotating sign, then yes, that is inconsiderate and if I were that neighbor, I would appreciate a polite request to keep the explicit images inside my shop.

Fly around PG areas of SL sometime, you'd be surprised at the things you see. I'm not sure why they even bother having PG and Mature, because everything everwhere is mature on SL unless a private member wants to take the time and report every single infraction in detail to LL, LL simply doesn't care to monitor it. That has been a pet peeve of mine for a long time. Either make the whole world Mature or actually monitor what is going on in the PG areas.

In theory, its up to YOU to decide whether its mature and pg. And because pg tends to get more traffic, some people simply put xxx things in PG.

I use a child AV 99.999% of the time. Combine the mixed-up mature/pg places in SL and the new search missing the "Show On Map" button makes it hard for me to move around anymore. Sure, when I'm search-shopping I can find the stuff I'm looking for. But I often TP in fear. Or I use my biggie AV just to be sure I don't rez in front of a naughty pose-ball and a photographer.

Is it just me, or do other people LOL at the immaturity of the mature content in SL?

i LOL at a lot of mature content, what really makes me LOL is thinking about sending my social security info to LL or any company that would work for them to see such cartoony things. yay verification is back to bite us in the ASCII!!!

ha ha I would Build a Giant wall with a nice scenic Picture on it and just let them complain that your blocking their view and no one can see their sign ha ha
Then tell them to get out of the PG sim with Mature content

Or you could plop a vendor selling sex beds for $1L right in front of his signs lol

LOL! True.

There should be a sticky on the Forums: "How to Find something in the new classifieds" with Rule #1 being- Go the bottom of the list. The less traffic or the less they paid, the more likely you'll find what you're looking for.

That's how I found good camping spots back when I cared!

(In September I lost my main desktop and didn't get it fixed for three weeks and lost my enthusiasm towards trying to keep 4 accounts logged in 24/7).

I'm terribly offended by tasteful PG advertisements. WHEN WILL IT END??.
Who will stop their tyrrany of PG-ness?!?! Every where I go.."PG" this and "PG" that.
Where are the PG police??!! How long will my mature brothers and sisters have to be exsposed to the dreaded "PG". Isn't there something that can be done? If it's not a "PG box" Rotating within my visual range it's "PG classifieds" peppered thru and littering my searches for profane debauchery.

I must say that the mature community as a whole needs to ban together and make it clear that if the PG-mongers do not police themselves and keep their PG propoganda away from our prying eyes..my little filthy head will just...explode!

ok would like to add also..yea..i don't like addfarms..as a builder I detest those 16 M lots.

BUT for every "right" that the advertisement owner projects on to you..you CAN turn around and do the very same thing to them. I have forced advertisements out of many mainland sims and ultimately forced the advertisement owner to fold and sell their land.

They make some very crucial mistakes in assuming what their rights are. for every meter up that they raise their little box..you can raise your wall..or tree..if there are height zoning restrictions...follow them to the letter and make sure the advertisement owner does too

If they are land locked..(say their16 M lot is in the middle of your sprawling "wanna be" estate or manor)....they are screwed. It's nothing more than a waiting game..and ultimately you can deal with 40 meter high hedges surounding their signs longer than they can deal with paying for "space" that can't be seen by the naked eye

Trust me..it works.
