Last I heard from a - random - Linden (many, many months ago) was that the town hall format was no longer appropriate for the current community and its size and that blog posts, Q&A sessions and office hours were much "better".

I'd still like to see them, especially if they could get the chat repeaters working again, even if it was just some LL exec talking about what's going on and coming up then answering a few (screened) questions at the end.

I did enjoy town halls as well (all the shouting and negativity was just part of the townhall experience as well :p).

If you want an "official" position/answer maybe Robin's office hour would be the best place (or maybe Torley's for a more informal clarification)?
