I decided to post this here because I know Linden Lab reads the topics here, as they mentioned in the description. I will probably NOT get suspended or NOT even banned for making this topic, but even though I hope this is true, I don't give a damn if it happens. I am NOT moving anywhere so I don't care.

I wanted to make a post here and tell everyone who is a Linden that I *LOVE* them very very VERY much!! When I was 36 years old and was still a bit old on the internet and mentally strong, I joined the Main grid, hoping to find a beautiful place full of people and play there happily with everyone else. I started hanging there and I enjoyed the place there very very much. I had an important part of my life inside SL, and spent a lot of my time there.

Seeing porn and adult content never harmed me one bit... but later on, I grew bored with it. Real Life is much more better in that respect.

But there was more than just "porn". The first thing that attracted my attention was "Build Things", then "Script things". The whole "Make money here" part I didnt care so much about.

So I came. I liked the ease of building stuff. WHile sometimes a bit 'glitchy', for all the quirks it worked.

Then I saw the stuff other people made- whole entire islands, the likes of which could never exist in the Real WOrld. Here was this buggy online world where people from all over, who have no background in 3D Media, started making stuff and selling it to others.

I've chatted (voice AND Text) with people I would've never met, and from all over the world. Some even as Twisted as Me!!!

I got to help people figure out how to do things in SL. I get to fly. I get to drop like a rock from the sky & get back up again. I get to do things I normally couldnt do, or EVER do in SL. I even got to learn just what-the-hell a Furry or a Gorean is!! And yet I find both groups interesting even tho I'm not either. Its just NEAT!

I've seen Second Life change over the past 2 years, with the usual uproar over the changes. Some good, some bad, but after awhile, it settles down again till the next "New Problem". Unlike some people, I understand the challenges LL faces trying to make the whole thing work. The fact that it works as well as it does is a testament to LL. Most companies would've given up after a year and moved on. Kind like the Corporations that opened up sims. *wink wink*

Those that still exist most likely exist due to either: Their product WORKS for SL, or they understand the people and the culture and what SL is about.

When the Business Week article came out, I rushed out to get a copy, just so I could show my coworkers what I was raving about at work. This helped somewhat as most of them are the ultimate in "Computer Illiterates". At least 2 Warcraft Players knew what I was talking about. The rest are still figuring out what a "computer" is.

The day I can afford it, and lets face it, it aint a cheap "Go Daddy" website, I'll have my own lil' Sim to play with. I have... ideas. All I can say is, it'll only be for those with a twisted, goofy sense of humor! HEHEHEHEHE!!!

The ONLY bad thing about Second Life I have to say is: IT really cuts down on your sleep time!! So much to see! So little time to see it!!!

In case Linden wants to delete this topic, please keep a copy in your logs, and show it to all the other Hard Working Folks at Linden Lab, so they can understand what GREAT things they are actually doing. Yeah, at least show it to the top Lindens so they see what they are doing to people! If you dare to leave a reply here after reading this, step ahead and do so. If anyone else wants to make fun of me, bash me or kiss me, do so as I don't give a damn, it doesn't change the state I was brought into. Whatever the problem that other poster had with the "hate" thread, they don't hold a candle to this one... This guy is so wacky he needs to be institutionalized!

I haven't ever posted here, but have been in game for over a year on this particular account. I've never had a real issue with LL. I can understand that things happen. Most of all I don't seem to get all upset about certain issues because I read what I was getting into from the beginning. I knew what the site was about, what it consisted of, what my responsibilities were, and what they expected. I could have been just a member who spent money and roamed around to clubs, different lands, and hung out with friends. But I chose to get involved. I create content. Not for profit, altho thats a side perk, but to provide people with nice things to use however they want in game. That to me is fun. I love the fact that there is a platform that I can do that. I appreciate all the hard work that I've seen behind the scenes to try and maintain this system for the rest of LLs members. All I have to say is its like a relationship. Sometimes its going to be great and shiney and all pretty. But then there are times where things don't look that good. I happen to believe in sticking things out.

Excellent idea. Last night, EVERY SINGLE tpattempt either ended in acrash or my hair andshoes stuck up my behind. Let the good karma abound!!

I have to agree I love My Second Life it gets better and better every day

Yes there are problems yes i curse at times But thats My Second life no differant then my first Life

If you think of the size of SL and what it takes to make it all come together it is really amazing the hundred of thousand objects created each and every day and the thousands of sims that need to be conected to communicate with each other is just amazing

So i cna understand when they have aproblem that it does take time to fix

i would love to one day see the inner wrokings of sl even iif its just one of the server rooms

I wouldn't go quite as far as the OP, but I do have to admit that the revision to lighting in the latest WL viewer, the increased feedback from various Linden's in the JIRA over the last few weeks, in-world interest in bug tracking, the interest in adopting the "ass-tachments" bug patch (fixed internally!) and the the effort they are clearly putting in to fixing buggy teleports really are adding a MUCH more positive spin.

For the first time in ages, the future is actually looking like an improvement rather than yet another bolt on with a pile of bugs. In fact, it's got me in such an improved mood that I'll even forgive the recent asset server drop outs.

So for once, I can smile and say Merry Christmas to all in LL and hope you have a damn good new year! (Oh and thanks / Merry Christmas to Nicholaz for putting in the hours and commitment needed to providing decent patches to LL).

The sky has been falling as long as I've been in SL. What the chicken littles overlook is that SL is held together as much by the community as the platform. If the latter bugs out for a while, the former will still draw together when the smoke clears. People like to complain about government all the time in the real world, but they'd be a lot more depressed if there wasn't one. Same goes for LL. They're just trying to do what they think is best. Until the time comes when virtual lobby groups give 'em kickbacks to limit our rights, or we have to click a coke ad every time we want to rez something, I'll appreciate LL. Love you guys. When I hear people complain about Secondlife or LL i have to laugh because it is obvious that they don't have a lot of experience "having fun" on the internet. I don't think anyone in their right mind can compare what we can do in Secondlife wth the limits of the old chat rooms or even the so called competitors of secondlife.

Am I 100% satisfied with everything that happens in Secondlife? Of course not but what is the alternative? I fully support Secondlife and the wonderful Lindens that make things so great. I hope heaven is as much fun
