Why so many sims being released ?

Doesn't really take a Linden to answer, they had an artificial scarcity back at the end of last year through the beginning of this year, created by the demand for Private Islands due to the announced pricing increase. They have now caught up with setting up PIs (and are probably in a bit of a lull on orders for those, since a lot of folks hurried up plans during the "last chance" period) - Now they are correcting for the shortage they caused earlier and attempting to bring land prices back down to normal levels.
