A group I belong to owns a small parcel. There is a land owner who does not like my Image of Jabba the Hut which is on it. His solution is to compleatly cover my parcle with mega prims and ban lines. The Mega prim's center is not on my parcel. I can get to the parcle with a Land Mark, But once in I am inside his solid prim I float skyward unless I anchor to a be safe ball. There have been several abuse reports filed. Mentors have investigated and agreed that the Mega prims covering the parcel from below ground to hundreds of meters into the sky are a clear violation of both the community standards and of the TOS agreement. It has been going on 10 days now. I get the email confirming receipt of my AR. But no contact saying its been resolved or we are investigating. Why have not any Lindens taken an intrest in the dispute? Any Lindens reading this? The mega prim owner thinks he has "influence" and that my only recourse is to ignore his criminal activity and go away. I prefer to seek Lindens oversite in the matter and so have refrained from violating the standards I expect my neighbor to adhear to. Is it to much to expect that the CS and the TOS be enforced uniformily for all residents? If we are on our own, I can write scripts and put out mega prims too. Is their a way to bypass the usual abuse reporting system and get to a higher up? Anyone wanting to see this abuse for them selves may do so at Immidae (38,234,86)

Perhaps because your Jabba is already a TOS violating spamming script.

In law, we have a doctrine called "unclean hands." If a person asks a court to order another person to do something (such as remove an object from their land), the court will only do so if the person asking for the relief is blameless (has clean hands). If the court looks at a situation and says, "both these folks are doing wrong" -- then it wisely leaves the situation alone. I think that Linden Labs acts in a wise manner -- at least in this regard -- choosing not to act in situations such as this one.

You use your land in a way that violates the TOS. Your neighbor over-reacts (and acts wrongly) and uses their land in an improper way to protect their land from your improper use. You are both wrong. You both should stop.

Linden Labs wants us to resolve these matters amongst ourselves. If we are too unreasonable to work out solutions (such as by your refusing to trade your lot for a larger and more valuable property in another sim where your spammer would not annoy so many neighbors -- an offer I understand you received from an associate of your neighbor), then we should grow up. Linden Labs should not be expected to be a playground monitor.

The Lindens, like RL police, should intervene in cases of real harm -- such as theft and harrassment -- and should not waste efforts on petty disputes. In this case, if there is real harm -- it is from your Jabba spammer harrassing neighbors by calling them offensive names. That harm was mitigated (and reasonably mitigated) by blocking your spammer -- self-help anti-harrassment. This situation might even be a success story and a poster child for cases in which the Lindens should not intervene.

Beathan, there is a problem with your land in Lipshen. Build has been left on and auto return is off and you have a squatter. I thought you would want to know. Its just next to the Houseboat community.
