Well I have been confused sent in tickets(of course no reply as of yet) spoke to concierge who dont seem to know how to advise on this, except to advise I sent in another ticket:

"And finally, some residents have noted that Mainland Maintenance fees are charged in arrears. To lessen the burden, and to provide Mainland residents with some additional notice, we will be not be passing on the VAT charge until October 27th for mainland maintenance fees."
However live support are sending me the VAT FAQ link which states:
"mainland customers who pay tier fees in arrears will see their first changes between September 27th 2007 and October 27th 2007.

The way I see it Zee has stated we dont have to pay until the 27th, so why is my tier asking for 229.13 on the 19th of October instead of the 195?

Are LL now going back on their word?

That was exactly how I read this article, charges will not be incurred until that day forward and my charges due tomorrow Friday 12 are showing inclusive of VAT.

But all mainland tiers are charged in arrears, the tier charges are for peak amount of land held in the past 30 days.

What happened at this meeting on Monday? I have not seen any posts from the attendees of that or follow up blogs.

For those that have already been billed was it with or without VAT?
If so with, are there refunds or credits being made?

I agree, we do need some clarification, as one statement contradicts the other...

Not a lot really, Zee summed it up by stating that all the questions that had been raised were already covered in the FAQ.

I was billed yesterday, although my account page said that my bill would be charged at the new VAT rate, the actual amount they took was the pre VAT rate.

I've raised support tickets about this and had no response so it was disappointing that they didn't actually adjust my bill or at least reassure me that the bill would be as Zee suggested. However the actual amount charged was as Zee suggested.

Ciaran, thanks for that, I see you had already mentioned this on another thread but it was to late after already posting here.

I shall see what happens then tomorrow.
One point I would like to make though while on the subject, it takes very little or no effort for LL to amend the blog and KB so we don't have to raise issues like this in the forum, as the OP's quotes clearly show misleasding and conflicting statements both from the Blog and KB, , its just a waist of everyones time courtesy of LL's incompetence.

All I can assume is that it would have been too much hassle for them to adjust the billing prices as they appear on our account pages. However it surely wouldn't have been too much hassle to reply to support tickets or post a blog to say that this was the case.

Let me get this straight, the bill included VAT but you had to pay exlcuding VAT? This is tax fraud and no doubt their accoutant (they do have accountants dont they?) would scream bloody murder over it.

The bill shouldn't have included VAT. Originally it was going to and then they backtracked.

When I looked at the amount due, it said the amount including VAT. I raised support tickets pointing out that we weren't supposed to be hit with VAT on mainland tier until October 27th, that figure never changed but my bill did.

If I look in my account history, it shows the amount I paid didn't include VAT. So it's not like they are pretending I paid it.

My monthly tier billing date used to be the 3rd or the month
My yearly subscription fee was on the 30th.
First LL 'adjusted' the tier billing date to the yearly subscription (stealing 3 days thanks a lot)
And second, with only 2 days notice, I have been billed AND charged on September 30th with the extra VAT (I had to sell an extra bunch of L$ to make sure my USD account had enough).
On October 10th though, they have credited back the VAT amount with this narrative:
"One-off 7.84 USD credit issued for earlier VAT charge"
