Log In Failed - Grid Full Of Freeloaders

I personally have been a premium member since 2005 and I have purchased land etc from Linden Labs and yet when I try to log in I can't get in because of all the free loaders that are camping their butts off throughout the grid. There was a point when we were promised that log-ins would be capped if the grid got too full but that paying clients would be able to access the grid. More bullshit obviously.

They did it... Once... It was a dismal failure. (=_=)

On that note, I don't remember seeing anything in writing that said we would have guaranteed uptime. =^-^=

I recall the post . It may have said it would limit the amount of people that did not have payment info on file from logging when the grid was full but they took that back once they realized people who own islands do not need to have payment info on file. Now its first come - first serve.

Maybe they can get rid of the bots logged on for days and days by occasionally making us type in a word or combination with numbers. Kind of like they do for security on other websites. How hard could that be?

It would be abut as easy as hanging a garlic clove on each server rack, and about as effective.

The number of bots logged in must be staggering. I definitely think the number is over 10k. So many businesses use traffic bots to the tune of 30-40 logins that the current number of logged in "users" is totally skewed. And I am not even talking about the people using camping bots/logins 24/7.

I used to do a BLACK SUNDAY post every week when our fashion shows were destroyed by clothes not reszzing and models not being able to log in. I now see Black Sunday has returned with a vegeance. I got the Login Failure box due to higher-than-usual load screen just now. Good thing I paid my tier to LL yesterday sothat free accounts could stand around chatting on the grid.

Well, has anyone like the fellow people complaining here come up with a clear definiton of a paying customer and a "freeloader"? Or are general terms more fun to play with? Hey, how about kicking off all European players when US prime time begins? Or vice versa? Why?
Well, why not?

So much about the nonsense part.

Now seriously, do you feel so much better if you stirr up a "class struggle" between premium and non-premium accounts just because you were one of the unfortunate ones who can't login? The first post only focuses on premium vs. "freeloaders", suggesting that anyone who's not a premium falls in the other category. I, who is happy with "Payment Info Used" because I don't fancy the premium offers, do find that insulting. I also strongly doubt that any bot who's online 24/7 would give a thought at all about this complaint, while you only upset the humans behind the avatars.

Unless bots were made an abuse item, I doubt they will ever go. Still its damm annoying that as paying member has no priority over non paying when it comes to login problems.

I have a problem in my private island I cant solve due to the logins being blocked.

Sods law of course.

There is never a good time to try Hipihi or Novoking.

Freeloaders Are Freeloaders
08-24-2008 15:46
I stick by the word free loaders in the context of the post. If you read it you will see that I added the phrase "camping their butts off" to expand on the heading. Currently there are 65K on line, the message says monitor the grid statuys page, the grid staus page says nothing. I do not suggest that premium players are the better or worse than other players, especxially those that create all the wonderful things that make SL the world that it is. I do suggest stongly that the "FREELOADERS" that do nothing in game to make it better for all, that create multiple characters that remained logged in purely to camp etc are taking game play away from those that are paying and/or putting in to making SL better. I mkake no excuses for making the comment in the first place, someone has to or do we just wait until the whole world is over run by campers etc. There needs to be a line drawn in the sand somewhere. Either make it harder for the campers to over-run the grid or make the grid better able to handle the traffic. I do not pretend to have the expertise to fix the problem but I can identify it.

I like your thinking :)

piof should always be enough to get in if they ever decide to restrict the grid. there are those of us in world who own sims and are estate managers. and plus I am not going perm, not enough encintives(cant spell) for me to be that. somebody commented a while back if they did this for prem members it would make those of us that are locked out go prem. um sorry still wont happen.

But hey I like to rant too so that is mine ^^
