Today while setting up a store I met a new resident, he was well mannered and very polite. He in conversation stated that he was 16, I immediately told him he can not be in the adult grid, and would have to go to the teen grid, he was very upset not in the usual bah way, but upset that he had done the wrong thing.

I went to find him the link to the teen grid, to realise that the NEW second life website with all those streaming pictures has NO reference to the teen grid ,but only a sign up now button that immediately starts the make an avatar process, nothing there was letting him know that he shouldnt be there other than having to try and find TOS etc.

He was not to blame for doing the wrong thing at all, and once I finally found the correct link I gave it to him. he assured me he would join it in the morning after some sleep

, like I said, he was so nice and polite and had heard about SL and as he wants to go into Graphic Design as a career had heard that SL would be a great tool to show and learn in.

I spoke to him for a while letting him know the ins and outs of theft lol and BIAB ( couldnt help myself) and to steer clear. This is probably not the place for this thread, but I really think that the website needs to make it VERY CLEAR without a full TOS many don't or can't read.

Two doors , one to teen one to adult would be a great start.

The sign up process for teens has been borked for a very long time. I have heavily sold SL teen grid to dozens of teenagers, only to find that they (and their parent credit card holder) have failed to get signed up despite their best attempts.

It needs to be fixed quickly. It's one thing to have teenagers who want to be on the adult grid in SL, but if the ones who *don't* want to be there are getting in inadvertently, that's a big problem.

This has been typical on a few fronts... Leave us unaware of the rules at first only to smack us with them when out of nowhere. (>_<

So while during the login process they ask for his rl date of birth - how did he pass this without lying about his age?
