https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/land/blog/2009/05/21/further-clarification-on-bots-and-camping#cf The blog post I just commented on is linked above. Its titled "Further Clarification on Bots and Camping" by Jack Linden..... Jack posted it back on May 21, 2009. My post from today: From: someone Jul 7, 2009 6:47 AM Traven Sachs says: Ya know... I had to get a shovel to find this post its so burried.... At this location well over a month after this post I see 23 people at present.... 22 of which are logged in campers: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cannon/45/166/83 So what happened here? Gaming Traffic? How many are bots (quite a few near as I can tell... at the very least they're sitting there AFK). 2.5L/10m up to 50L per body. Not bad. So Linden Labs... whats the deal? I -know- for a fact several A/R's have been filed about this in this sim... I've filed some of them... so have the other property owners in the sim. I -know- for a fact that a Concierge class user has complained about it to the LL Employees... So... how come over a MONTH after all's said and done with this new 'Policy' of Linden Labs regarding Camping and Bots its STILL there?

Yes the bot ban is a paper tiger. No one pays much heed to it and I still see quite a few places with bots and campers driving up traffic. It's just screws all of us who try and create an environment where it's fun to be. We work and spend time and money to bring in people and give them what they came for but get buried in listing by some asshole mall owner who's only contribution to SL is buying some land, dropping some booths and placing bots and then scamming vendors who want to earn a little income from their work only to see their lindens bleed away because bots and campers don't buy anything. This kind of gaming will drive off people from SL because it makes it hard for them to find anything worth doing other than visiting malls. People want to find places where others are having fun and doing something worthwhile. Bots and Campers are the bane of SL.

When someone goes idle their map dot should change colour. Or fade.
