"Meetings, prototyping and design, training, simulation, distance learning, and any other activity dependent on efficient collaboration can be greatly enhanced by the Immersive Workspaces solution."
dumbed down: "SL is the Meeting Room / Virtual Training Solution for the 21st century".
... Hardly so.
If my employer would "force" (as in, "we won't accept 'i dont want to' as an answer"

why:
three possibilities:
- company allows me to use my private avi: bad idea. Don't mix fun with work. That way they could get their hands on me in my free time... On second thought, I don't think i could take an employer seriously who would not feel bad about some of the appearances that abound in SL.
- company tells me to create an avatar with a certain last name, and set it up as i want (within business dress code): would cost my time and most likely my money, not to mention the hassle. ("Hey boss, is this nicky ree suit ok within the company dresscode?"

- company provides premade avis: if there is one thing that I would consider BAD, it would be sitting in a meeting with 40 others who all look like clones.
Besides... Why should any company invest in hardware that is good enough for SL on EVERY desk, if all they really need to run long distance networked conferences is a decent VoIP/Video conference solution...
