OK, maybe this is a dumb question, but is there any possible way of changing one's name in SL? I have a lot of no transfer items, and I've spent a long time customizing my look, carefully molding my shape, etc. I really do not want to transfer it all, but I am really sick of my name (enough to post a thread about it) and would like to pick something else. Can I make a request to LL or something like that? I mean, what happens when people go from being residents to Lindens? Do they get a new av or does LL change their name?
Maybe there is a way this possibility can be added to SL? It might decrease the number of Alts people make (not sure but from other posts I thought maybe this was a problem).

heh the answer is NO.. u cant do that... in some cases LL can change your name but u need to have realy goooood, good reason for that. Even that they can change your name or not ... btw your name is oke for me...  and look at my name ..lol ..when i registered i write it ivan...no Ivan who care  |

Once it's widely accepted, you can AR yourself for indecency and you'll get your name changed (although Lindens have a weird sense of humour when it comes to picking replacements for offensive resident/group names ). |

You could always make an alt, pass all your goodies to that one, including your shape and skin, etc., and then cancel your original avatar account. That's the only thing that comes to mind for me. My guess for other people and their alts is either they want a mule character to hold duplicates (backups) of their goodies, and/or to buy up additional real estate to make more money. Seeing as how any avatar can take on any shape and skin (there doesn't seem to be a "true" male or female character in-game...you can change it on a whim), then I don't see any real benefit of having multiple avatars to play with (other than for a name) since all you need to do is load a new shape and viola! Your guy is now a girl (or a dog, or a lion, or a demon.....). |

Aylea yes but , we all have 50% of non transferable things...and there is no way to transfer it to your alt so that is the main problem with that what u say .... off course it can be done....but u know LL must decide about...and LL will not make that only coz somebody dont like hes name |
