Hello!,

I hope someone can help me, as I need some advise
rather urgently.

I became a resident recently a with a new avatar.
(I couldn't find the upgrade link!) I really enjoy
SL and decided to buy and build and found exactly
what I was looking for. Unfortunately because the
land I chose was not mainland I wasn't eligible for
the 512m discount on tier or I guess eligible for
the 1000 L$ for upgrading.

I bought the land and I'm delighted with it and
have been given a week tier free. I checked out
the tier price per month but when I tried to buy
Lindens I'd used all my trade limit !.. I've got
a week to pay my tier which amounts to several
dollars ... but I can't pay it! I'm at risk of
losing my new land!

I can only guess that the part of the problem was
I was so delighted at finding what I wanted that
I didn't check out the finances, but also that
maybe a VAT worth of Lindens was included when
I joined as a premium member.

I can't even buy the $ 25 minimum at the exchange,

OH! HEEELLP !

Yours most sincerely,

Iota (oh duh) Vita

I don't have too much an answer because I do not know about non-mainland tier but - how much do you actually need? I mean, what is it on an island?

Hi :)

The tier price is about the same, but the land price was good value as far as I can see. (I did some sums based on the cost of a region and an island and divided it). I browsed the auctions first and the prices were way above what I'd imagined although I would have a cheaper tier.

The problem seems to be that I'm registered as a newbie, so my $L buy/sell exchange is capped for the next few weeks (groan) otherwise I'd have paid the weeks tier (or three) in advance.

There's a happy ending here because the Islands have a resident committee who are great and really helpful & kind . They have offered to bail me out until its all sorted ! :D

I'm really disgusted with myself that I didn't take more time thinking it out, but then I was very impressed by the way the Island is organised, the covenant is so clear and exactly what I was looking for, & added to that the setting is perfect,

on the other hand, sods law being what it is......it had to happen to me,
