I'm not sure if this is the right forum spot to post this under, but I'm wondering if we will ever get figure printing? For example: World of Warcraft users can now get little figures made of their characters. My husband bought one and its real neat. Now Guitar Hero players can get their little character made into a nifty little character.
Will we ever be able to own a little figure of our second life character? I personally wouldn't mind having one on my desk. I know there is some issues with prim hair not being able to put on that model but there has to be someway to work it out.

Judy, anyone who owns Photoshop, Correl Draw or who is fluent in Gimp can do a "finger print" for you (if I understand your meaning of finger print). Basically, here is how it's done in Photoshop: 1. Stand against a solid-color background different in color from your avatar. White or bright green often works well 2. Take a snapshot and store it to your hard disc. 3. Enter Photoshop, call up the snapshot, and use MAGIC ERASER to remove the background. You now have a "transparency" that can be printed out or applied to any other background. If you're talking about a 3-dimensional representation (such as a figurine)... I have no knowledge of such being done at this time. Sure sounds like a neat potential market though.

Here's a link to a blog post that mentions both the Figureprints WOW figurines and the place you can get SL avatar figurines from, which in Fabjectory. I was going to say "Fabjectory is at http://www.fabjectory.com. " but since Argent posted it while I was typing I guess I won't.

That's really very fascinating. I want one of those printers. Think they take L$? I went to Z-corp's website to check out the printers themselves. Really nice-looking units. They say they're "affordable"... but you have to make a direct inquiry to get a quote. My guess is... not so affordable. LOL. But the figurines cost from $99 to $200. I wasn't real impressed with the quality of the samples; the samples from Zcorp themselves looked much more detailed. But for some people it might be a fun thing and the figurine company from its ad seems pretty friendly. fabjectory.com/GalleryImages/Second%20Life/Three-Standing.jpg
