Hi, I am aware that this question might be a bit out of context, but I request important help now. For some reasons I don't know, the Island owner from who I bought some land, using my Paypal information, is sending my RL name on most of my friends online, using my groups information to get to them. He used an alternative avatar for doing so, and is threatening my privacy, against TOS and France's law on internet privacy. More, he is using this alternative avatar to spy on his own island all his customers. And to finish, he reclaimed my land without me having been in conflict with his own Covenant.
I reported once against the avatar that was the source of the disclosure, but apparently, her account is still active, and I have no feedback on mesures that could have been taken against that very concerning situation.
As report features doesn't give me enough space and possibility to transmit the whole file, logs, proofs and context, I am trying to get some help through this message.
Can somebody in linden lab could explain to me how I can defend myself with such abuse, and to be sure that this person will be "arrested" in harming and theaving without being punished ?
Thank you, and sorry if I am posting in the wrong section, I didn't find any that would fit.

I would open a Support Ticket and include any evidence you may have. Any idea why he would do this? Sounds bizarre.

Yes a support ticket in addition to ARs would be a good idea.
Include all information you have,
Sadly even though is a Disclosure prohibition is in the Community Standards, Mr. Community standards himself, Dan Linden has publicly stated he thinks it is impossible to enforce. He has actually stated it will be going away.
A good reason to use Linden$ when dealing with people you dont absolutely trust in Second Life, rather than Pay Pal.

You may have grounds for a complaint about the person spreading your RL information around.
However, you probably do not have a chance of getting your land or your money back. A private island estate owner can reclaim her land from any of her renters at any time for any reason. There is no "legal" requirement for there to have been a breach of the island's covenant.
This is why it is vitally important for people acquiring land from a private island estate owner to carefully check the owner's reputation. Many of them are very good, customer-oriented businesspeople. They realize that capricious actions on their part will result in fewer tenants in the future. But there are some very bad apples in the barrel, too.

You say this guy sent your RL info to your friends as well. Have each of your friends file abuse reports- there's even a special RL info disclosure category- and that will increase your chances of some kind of action. I also, seriously, recommend you go to the Second Citizen Forums and post this guy's name/estate so other folks know to avoid him.

Got no support from Linden Labs. Got no support for the Island Residents Got no support from outers, being warned by that person behaviour Lost 50€ and pride. Encountering that money/land theft and personal info disclosure is not closely followed by Linden Labs. Sorted that Linden Labs was an usual company thrilled by it success, unable to fulfill its promises regarding close and efficient support in those kind of matters. Like many others....
My own regard about that is: Boycott Private landing Boycott SL's commercial intent about developping property on their servers.
As I am not as closed to refuse any help or debate, I still wait for Linden Labs to contact me to ban that person for violation of TOS, Internet privacy laws, and regular asset theft.

Unfortunately, your experience of Linden Lab support is not unexpected. Even though I am a concierge client -- the only time I have had good communication with LL, and actually had a Linden interested in resolving a matter, was when LL was demanding early payment (days before it was due) for an auction purchase at the height of the land price crash.
Bottom line -- if Linden Labs has no money at stake, it has no interest in resolving disputes or being minimally responsive to tickets.
I think that Linden Labs wants us to resolve these matters personally, rather than through Linden Labs, and runs a woefully inadequate support program as a result. I think that the problem you describe would allow you to file a RL lawsuit and pursue RL remedies against the other AV.
Personally, that is how I am inclined to resolve all future problems I have with SL residents. As a lawyer, I know that I will get much better support from RL courts than I ever received from the Lindens. Also, because LL will be a necessary witness in any such action -- answering subpoenas and such -- LL will have real money at stake and may actually try to resolve the issues.

Beathan Vale I'm a lawyer too and I agree with this post 100%. If I ever have a serious problem with LL, and so far I haven't [knock on wood], I will try to resolve it through concierge support. Failing that, I would file a suit. they really can't and won't ignore that. Sooz
