Post here if you actually like WindLight's implementation so far.

I find the current release to be much improved over the last incarnation, with only a few minor kinks to work out (it's a First Look viewer, not a final release). My framerates have actually gone up (45 to 60+) with graphics totally maxed + forced AA, my avatar looks good this time around, the bloom/glow effects are fun to play around with (always needs more bloom), the colored water controls will come in VERY handy for a project I have in the works, and it basically looks like nothing is going to be negatively-affected.

Running XFX GeForce 7900GS 256MB, Athlon 64x2 4200+, 1GB DDR2, WinXP (yes, you too can run SL at 60fps with a $500 system).

P.S: THANK YOU for returning the Logitech G15 applet. I saw that in a beta release quite some time ago and was wondering what happened to it. :D

I'm really liking it so far. I've disabled the Windlight skies though as they keep me at around the same framerate I had on the main viewer, however without them I get a good solid 25 to 30 frames-per-second which is a huge jump from 10-ish :)

The water however I've kept on (turning it off doesn't seem to do much to my frame-rate) and it looks fantastic, even without reflections.

Very promising update and a very welcome performance boost. Lots of bugs to work out, but all relatively minor things, I'm playing happily on the firstlook viewer as-is and enjoying much better performance to boot!

I am really enjoying it, everything maxed out to the right, ultra-detail on. I liked it too much - I started uploading snapshots of my friends to them to show them what it all looks like to me. Moonlit walks on the beach rock my world now!

Turning on multi-threaded rendering really raised the roof on framerates. More often than not, the FPS meter is burried the moment I turn it on and so far, seems more stable than the mainstream client. Figure that one out. O.o
