Just to confuse things, I've got the Aditi beta (not the First Look viewer) running in the main grid. It seems to be okay for the rather limited range of things I'm doing inworld.

With the Aditi client installed,

Copy the normal Aditi shortcut and paste a copy, so you have a new shortcut named "Copy of Second Life (ADITI)" .

The target field in the Aditi beta shortcut normally reads
"C:\Program Files\SecondLifeADITI\SecondLifePreview.exe" -settings settings_beta.xml --aditi -helperuri http://preview-aditi.secondlife.com/helpers/

Right click the Copy of Second Life (ADITI) shortcut, select properties, and edit the target field so that it reads:

"C:\Program Files\SecondLifeADITI\SecondLifePreview.exe" -settings settings_beta.xml

That is, delete the " --aditi -helperuri http://preview-aditi.secondlife.com/helpers/" from the end of the shortcut.

I make no promises at all that this is a wise thing to do.

Hi Element, get rid of that cr*p immediately ! That version has a bug that will not trigger money() events on child prims when you Pay an object. In plain english, that means you pay a vendor, money goes to the merchant but you never get your item. You think the merchant is trying to steal you, you IM him/her in an unfriendly mood... Bad, bad, bad. Update your First Look client ASAP and everyone will be happy :)

To be honest I've had client crashes with just about all the first look viewers for multi threaded rendering. Also weird texture glitches that cause content that used to work, to end up not working correctly. These problems do not happen on the standard client however. I would enjoy a way to speed up rendering time, but at the extent of client stability i would not. LL please make sure that you keep this in testing long enough so that it doesn't get released like this... Some of the biggest problems i am facing right now is my furry head's eye blink script no longer does it's job correctly. it now turns my whole face 1 solid side of the texture when i zoom out from myself. I also have a problem where textures UN-Render as you zoom away. The client crashing is random but happens quite a bit. These are things that will need fixed.

ditto to this. the textures re-rendering is very annoying.
