I love the voice feature! However, I seem to have a hard time finding people to talk with. I've managed to find some voice-enabled sims, but they're mostly empty :(. I don't want to go to those big laggy clubs though. Any suggestions?

I would like to see a new map icone that indicates voice ON in a sim on the big map. SO when we see the voice on indicator and the green dotws I know I am going to a lively voice chat area.My entire island is voice enabled and I leave it on. But I do not advertise it in the big club. I do list the underground pub as a chat zone. It is a more intimate atmosphere and better suited for chatting.

Personally I think LL over estimated the numbers of users that would actually want to use voice in the first place... (remembers advertising slogans.. 8 out of 10 cat owners said.. (only 1500 out of the total population asked). Also as the voice viewer has more issues than the standard client, many don't bother loading it for the sake of staying in game a bit longer.

Bladyblue, can u send me the LM to the small club/pub? Yes, an icon on the map would be fantastic!

AWM, I have fewer issues with First Look than with the regular version. Since the last update to First Look, all the people I know are also experiencing fewer issues. HTH :).

I have to disagree. The current First Look is stable. More so then the regular viewer IMO. bladyblues place is nice, Krysss Wings2 is nice, Juke Joint Blues and a whole slew of voice enable venues are lining up for you voiceing pleasure Sue. The Voice Mentors have a wiki that will be updated to list private establishments with voice enabled.

That may have more to do with your actual system setup... mine isn't preferenced to voice or sound, however I do get voice working even when I move about a bit, it goes off. Not a priority for me, making movies is, so everything is setup for that, the FirstLookVoice isn't as good for me in that respect. I just hope they keep 2 seperate versions.

There is a place called Wings-something-or-other that is one or two sims east of Samoa and Ross. Seems to be several people hanging around talking there all the time.

I would think that you've been around long enough to know that firstlook means that it's the next version of the vewer. The regular viewer will go away soon enough. Just like the render pipelene improvements firstlook viewer, and after voice comes out, the windlight firstlook viewer will eventually be the standard viewer.

I've never had any issues with the firstlook viewer that I don't have with the standard one. Even my work computer with a crappy video card and crappy DSL connection.

For voice chat and a really helpful community there is no better place than the bear Infohub. Here can be found people chatting on voice at any time of day and help can be sought from most of the people that go there. Many newbies choose to come back regularly after being born to the Infohub simply because of the help they have found from the regulars when they arrived. Any time in the evening is the best time for voice where you will be sure to find interesting chat topics. Come and say Hi!

Yep, ur right, I've seen the variations of beta, firstlook, now the candidate etc etc.. I always try out the latest client, if for no other reason, it gives me a bit of an insight to what to expect when the make it the 'normal' client.

The point I was making is that I'd wish LL would give us all the option of having a relatively simple, but stable client, in addition to other versions which incorporate all the things others want/need. Having an option to 'skin' the client over a basic but stable model would perhaps be preferable for many, when all they need at times (or maybe all the time) is a version without voice etc.
This move would also serve those that cannot always afford to upgrade their systems playing catchup.

The principal of applying this type of skinable upgrade, is not a new concept and is well proven.
