As of yesterday I can no longer click on someone else's object and go into "Edit" to see who it belongs to and who created it. All I get is a greyed out area at the bottom. I can only see all the information when I click on a object that belongs to me.

And I would also like for someone to explain the new "permissions" in the Content section in Edit.

Thanks

Try unchecking "SeIect Only My Objects" from your "Tools" menu.

Tools menu, make sure to turn off both of "Select only my objects" and "Select only movable objects".

The short answer: don't rely on this feature yet, it is broken.
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4444

The longer answer: once it is fixed, the new permissions window will let you twiddle the filter checkboxes on the left until the objects that you want to change are all showing. Check the permirrions you would like to apply to *all* the inventory items shown in that window, then click Apply to make the change. This is supposed to make life a little easier, so that items in an object's inventory won't need to be changed one at a time. *But again, see that JIRA link, the next owner permissions are not sticking properly and you should not rely on this feature yet.*
