My Age Verify Link Has the Form to Fill Out Again

I age verified ages ago.

I went to my account today because a friend said their page was no longer saying they were age verified. I looked - and the form is there for me to fill out again too.

Is this happening to everyone? System Glitch? I can access adult areas (though I don't dare toggle it in my preferences until it's sorted out).

Can anyone verify if it's just a few of us, or the whole system that's down? (Go to your acocunt, click the age verify link - are you still age verified there? Or do you have the form back?) Thanks!

The form always shows up for me now, whether or not the account is age verified.

Shows up for me too, used to show that I was already age verified but I can still get to age verified parcels.

Yup, mine is too. How odd... I guess they've decided they've beta'd it enough?

We could ask for them to fix this. OR, we could ask them to remove the whole "age verify" process and flag altogether. Now that the Adult rating exists, just allow people to enable it for parcels and voila, no need for age verification.

You still need some form of verification to get into Adult rated parcels. Some people might still want to use Age Verification for that.

Sure, so they make it an or gate, instead of having two different gates.

Good point. How about this: keep the option to use age verification to access Adult content, but eliminate the 'age verify' parcel flag and offer an "adult" parcel flag instead.

That would be ideal, if they'll let you flag mainland parcels as adult. Or give you the equivalent and call it something else if they don't want to have Adult parcels on the mainland.

Of course that would require them to lose face over the "it's regions only" decision.

I checked my account and my alts, all used to be verified (manually, not through aristotle, since it'd be illegal for me over here to hand the kind of data they want to a non-govt entity outside the EU), and they all are "not verified" now.

A bit of a topic-sidestep, but this really bothers me: I understand making it illegal for a non-government entity to require or request certain information (like social security numbers in the US), but - what kind of communistic country actually makes it *illegal* for an individual to divulge his or her *own* information???

I don't think that germany is that communistic anymore.

and it _is_ illegal to hand over your passport number (the only valid option if you select "germany" on the web form) to non-government non-authorities.

...given privacy laws in germany, and aristotle's history for selling data left, right, and center, giving them any data at all might even count as "aiding and abetting" and/or "assisting in a crime".

Maybe they've decided to kick everyone and start again to purge all the disposable false alts people have easily registered.

i tried something, and it seems that only the website part of that "verification" is borked...

i set a piece of group land to "allow verified adults only" and did not get kicked out...
on the other hand, does that "verified only" have an effect on members of the group owning the land?

For example, we don't know if you can be let in as group member or owner despite the verification settings, ie:

(Parcel set to require age verification) & (Landowner not age verified) = Entry denied? (we dont know yet)

Yes, even on the land owner, as a friend of mine found out when he banned himself from his own land by turning age verification on.
