Hi,
I just downloaded the new version (on June 16 PM 2009), and all graphics went bad. First, everything was flat, two dimensional, totally squished, and unrecognizabile.
In Preferences, the Aspect Ratio was set to 0:0, which of course does not make sense. I chose 4:3 (and tried a few others), which gave the graphics the desired three-dimensional effect, but still not good. Everything is now terribly stretched and ugly, including my house, avie, everything. The problem occurs at every location I tried.
Interestingly, the 0:0 Aspect Ratio option disappeared from the list.
I also tried changing the resolution. I didn't think it would help, and it did not. I also tried rebooting my system
And ideas?
There's no way I can enjoy SL looking at this mess.
Thanks, Avanti

If all else fails, uninstall Second Life and then delete your Second Life preferences and cache directories (a more extreme step than clearing your cache) and try again with a completely fresh install. On Windows XP, delete \Documents and Settings\<your name>\Application Data\Second Life and \Documents and Settings\<your name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Second Life. On Windows Vista or Windows 7, it's \Users\<your name>\App Data\Local\Second Life. On a Linux system, delete ~/.secondlife. Somebody with a Mac handy will have to fill in how to do the equivalent thing there.

You solved my problem! Ya! For the record, I did not select the last Zoom, just like I did not select the 0:0 Aspect Ratio (which is now gone). It seemed they were the default selections after downloading the newest SL version. Again, thanks! Avanti (Avantia)
