I don't think that is possible on your own. Even if you delete the payment info on file, it will still say 'Payment Info Used' in your profile.

You may have to take it up with Linden Labs via telephone or support ticket.

To delete the info Linden Labs has on file, such as your credit card, go to the main SL webpage, log in, click My Account, Update Payment Method, and click Delete and Update Credit Card Info. If you click the last button, your information is supposedly deleted, but your profile will still say 'Payment Info Used.'

Keep it like that. You can delete your payment info on the website under "my account" and it will not change your inworld "status", but in this case it is actually a good thing because many places (including this forum!) only allow you to visit if you have payment info on file...

if you change your payment info on file so that it is no longer on file, you will no longer have access to these forums..... within about 5 minutes of the button clicking. speaking from experience.

This varies for some reason, I think relating to persistence of cookies. When I deleted my payment info, my work computer (Win/Firefox, erases cookies every session) lost the forums right away. But my home computer (Mac/Safari, keeps cookies) had forum access for another 10 days, only losing it when I logged into the web site as one of my alts. When I logged back in as Ava, forum access was gone.

But I'm such a forum addict, I had to put the payment info back! :p

Could you please tell why you would that line have removed from your profile. I am happy to have it there.

Many people see it as a sign that you are trusteable, because SL has some info on you. Of course that line doesn't make you really more trustable.... but well :)

most companies have a policy about keeping data from current and past customers, even if only for safekeeping regarding possible future fraud attempts.

I don't know what the law is like in the US, but in the UK I'm pretty sure that the Data Protection Act means that if you press a button to delete personal info, then the company has to delete it and certainly can't access it whenever they want for "fraud prevention".

So I think that, yes they may be able to keep summary/statistical info, but retaining name, address and cc info is pretty much a no no.
