Screenshots without the screenshot UI

How can I hit one button to quickly take a screen shot without my HUD objects and save it to disk, without it popping up a window asking all sorts of questions about what I want to do? I'm sure there used to be a key for this, but I can't remember what it was; I thought it was ~ but that doesn't do it.

It would be nice to skip that annoying camera noise and animation too, but that's a secondary concern for me.

Doesn't CTRL SHIFT ALT 1 turn on/off the UI?

I usually hit the PrtScrn (Print Screen) key, then paste it into the art programme of choice before modifying, trimming and saving, instead of using the snapshot facility.

Yes this works and the key combination you need is Ctrl and '. The window opens when you take the first snap after logging on, asking where you want to save it, after that it does not ask. In the client menu is "take quiet snapshop" which stops the animation that usualy accompanies the key press. I have not had any of my hud objects saved using this, not even my name.

To turn off the UI, it's Ctrl-Alt-1 (not Ctrl-Shift-Alt-1).

To turn off HUD displays: Alt-Shift-H

However if you use Ctrl-~ to get a screen cap it doesn't capture
the UI or HUD display anyway. =)

You can turn off the camera sound under the Debug/Client menu.

The debug menu is toggled on/off with Ctrl-Shift-Alt-D.

You'll see Quiet Snapshots to Disk, currently the 5th item on
the Client dropdown list.

Also, when you use Ctrl-~ the first time it will ask where you want
to save, but only the first time. After that all subsequent screencaps
with Ctrl-~ will save it to the folder you specified the first time.

Speaking of the camera noise and animation whether the debug command
quietSnapshotsToDisk is true or false it still makes a sound, did Linden make it soo no matter what it would always do a noise and animation?

i've been taking snapshots of events for the groups i ma in with permission and its annoying not only me but them.

any ideas?

Sometimes it does make the snapshot silent, sometimes it makes no difference. I think it may be a bug that nobody's really chased up.
Also, I wasn't aware of Cntrl/~ but use Cntrl/shift/S myself.

Actually, this depends on how you set the options from the snapshot screen. I normally use ctrl-~ (actually ctrl-`, as the shift key isn't used), and have it without the UI showing in the snapshot (although I can still see it on my screen).

But if I go into the snapshot window, turn on "show UI" or something like that, then cancel/discard the snapshot, the pictures I take with ctrl-~ will then have the UI showing. This will stick between logins, so I have to go through the process again (open snapshot window, turn off "show UI", cancel snapshot) to make it stop showing again.

I believe "Quiet Snapshot to Disk" continues to make the shutter sound if you use the "Snapshot" button, but is silent if you use the key combination.
