Does anyone know of any sites I could upload music to to play in my group's land? Or if not, then does anyone know of any stations that play symphonic metal like Epica and Nightwish?

Go to Shoutcast.com and do a search, you will most likely find a music stream you like. :)

I was never able to figure out how to find the IP/port number like you can with Shoutcast *.pls, but Bandit 106.3 in Stockholm used to play a lot of Nightwish.

There are a few shoutcast providers that allow you load your music up on their server and have it auto play. Search the SL Classifieds for Shoutcast servers and find one that offers that. Its about $2,000L to $4,000L a month.

Or you could just a ShoutCast stream and stream your music real-time.

How? I've wanted to DJ my own parties.

Also want to find a good place that stores enough (unless it streams from my PC or at least gets safely relayed from it during that time).

Got to shoutcast.com and read up on the "Download/BE A DJ" link (if i remember right). Tells you all about loading the Shoutcast plugin into Winamp so you can broadcast, but you'll need a stream server.. Technically, you CAN use your same computer, but its not a great idea (lag hell). Best thing is to use another fast computer as the server or rent a stream server.

If you have access to a web host, you can use an mp3 player. There are some freebie and inexpensive ones out there, including ones that can faux-stream multiple playlists. Awesome if you want a personalized playlist, or want to play your own music inworld without paying for a streaming server.
