The "what price" thread got me to wondering, what is a good number for putting out new releases in a bunch at a time?
Is it better to put one each week, or a few each week, or one each day, etc.
What number doesn't overwhelm you and gives you the incentive to go see what they have at the store?
Is it better to show all new releases, or say, more available at the store, and have folks come to see the rest? Will people even bother to go see the rest?
I am trying to motivate myself to get back to making stuff, and was thinking maybe working more on the line of jewelry I was making, as I very much enjoyed them. However I do not want to overwhelm people with too many new releases in one batch.
So what number works for you?

For me personally, a couple a week. I always let the new stuff at a store bank up for a few weeks, then I go back and it's like a different place and I go nutz. I tend to think it's not so much when you put out the new products as when you send out notices ABOUT them. Too often and you'll be "crying wolf" and people will just click past the update notice. I personally like the timing of how they do it at Sn@tch. Products go out a few at a time when they're done, but notices get grouped together and let out weekly, which agrees with this type of powershopper (who likes to be informed, but hates blue popups at login).

I'm a "one new release a week" person. Belonging to several groups, one new release a week per group does not overwhelm me. The two things that *do* overwhelm me are:
1. A shop that crams too many new products in one release.
2. A shop that has a release (or releases) daily. I just quit one group that I absolutely adore their clothes simply because I was too overwhelmed. Once I sort through what I already have, I will then rejoin the group. Even though this store has exceptional clothing, the sheer number of releases just fried my brain.

I like the way they do it at sn@tch as well .. plus her notecards are entertaining to read.

guess I should check out sn@tch and see how she does it (I visited the store a couple times, someone needed an R on the lucky chair, so I bumped it, not my style of clothes though so never kept it and did not join group)

I try to bring out something new once a week, to be honest, I don't think I could really do more than that (unless I'm finishing up projects that I have been working on for a while).

For me? Some groups send out things every day it seems like. I'm sorry to them but it begins to feel spam-ish. They forget people belong to up to 25 groups, and logging in to SL after a few days or more away, having a stack of announcements from one group just begins to seem annoying.
I'd say no more than once/week and no more than 5 items per announcement. Also, make it more than an ad; I don't log in to SL to get ads from stores. If I want something I can just go to that shop. So some incentive to take a special trip to that store that day, like a percentage off the featured items, is a basic, I think. (And otherwise what is 'special' about being in the group/subscription list?)
Also, I think designers might focus on what's missing in the current market, or try to make things that are 'different' - even if that means something 'boring' like shirts that cover the navel. lol
Ideally I'd say one 'new release' card every two weeks or less, with four or five various things on there. There's one group I'm thinking of leaving because it's a new corset a few times a week. Okay...no one reinvented the wheel; where's the headline? ;p

I would need to step into a fast-time universe to release things any faster than I do. It took me four weeks to create this: http://vengeancestudio.com/sl/docs/globeclock/GlobeClock.htmlI'm beginning to think I do things that are too complex to be paid for in micropayments. I need to start thinking of products that are easier to get out the door! Oh, yeah, I tried that. Took a few days to create six neon signs. And they aren't selling

I prefer a weekly update. Once a day would be too annoying. For quantity I guess I don't care too much if you have one new item or ten.

I have wondered myself how I would manage 1 a month if I had a job. I put a lot of time into them, but I have a lot of time so it works out
