Arg, so I bought lindens for my first time last night at about 9:30pm, (With a pre-paid mastercard) and I was told it was a 24 hour wait to buy more once you've spent $10.00 USD.

It's not letting me buy more and i'm so confused about it, can someone tell me how long i'll have to wait to buy more? ._.

Yep. Everybody goes thru this when they're new. It's a fraud prevention thing.

I think the 'Resident Monthly Limits' chart at http://secondlife.com/currency/describe-limits.php is the one that you're probably interested in.

If you really, really can't wait, you might be able to buy more at www.slexchange.com. I've never bought L$ there but I'm sure others reading this can help you out, if needed.

edit: DO NOT BUY L$ FROM EBAY!!!! Really. Just don't do it.

I'm not sure how new users are handled, but you should have luck with Xstreet SL:

http://xstreetsl.com/

Since it's actually linked to your Avatar I'd think you'd be better off thn with eBay.

It's the Buy L$ row in the Resident Monthly Limits table on that web page.

When you're less than a day old, you can only buy US$10. Between when you're 2-7 days old, you can buy up to US$100. After that, it's US$300 per month.

Clubside mentions xstreetsl, which is the same thing as slexchange - they recently changed their name. If you buy L$ from anywhere except secondlife.com or there, you'll set off fraud alarms back at LL. You don't want that.

I'm not sure, but I believe the clock starts ticking on those 2 or 3 days when you first bought lindens last night. I had the same problem my first cash transactions, I wanted to sell and cash out lindens and even though my account was over a year old I had a very small limit at first that increased over the next few days and weeks.

I purchased L$ for the first time with xstreetsl and it took a few hours for my first purchase to go through the fraud checks and then Ive had no problems after that with the L$ being available straight away and IIRC i was allowed upto 250USD. Now i use them most for L$ purchases :)

Also, XStreet has some pretty good customer service when compared to LL.

But, yes, the clock on the chart starts from the day you first charge to your card. I wish like heck LL would make that more clear for first time purchases..

Another way is to vreate a couple of alt characters and pass the money from them to your main, but take note there is a limit of 4 or 5 alts I think.
