SLCC - The place you never bring your kids to, and or conservative friends. The SLCC ball will be Leather, Lace, Latex - No thank you  That aside, for me as a techie, the real fun is at VW200* conferences. _____________________

I went to the 2006 one, and was pretty unimpressed. Then again, I came in the middle of a "love and relationships" panel which, well, was really a "sex" panel. It seemed way overpriced, to me.
Likewise, the mixer event always seems to be a "fesith ball" of sorts -- and that would seem th' last place I should show up at. I might go again if it was closer, but I have a hard time seeing the value. Mari (annoyed that the board software wouldn't let me title this post in all caps) _____________________

Hurricane Hannah (or tropical storm Hannah at present), currently is projected to possibly brush the east coast of Florida. Tampa is on the west coast of Florida, so there's a signifigant landmass between Hannah and SLCC. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/storm_graphics/AT08/refresh/AL0808W5_sm2+gif/145314W_sm.gif Tampa will probably see rain, but at the moment doesn't look to be in any significant hurricane danger. Feline (Florida resident who always keeps an eye on the projected "cone of uncertainty" aka "the hot dog of death" _____________________

NOW- I still say have it in Pittsburgh! Same time as the Furry Convention. That way some folks can kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Plus when I say "it sucks here" yinz'll know what I mean _____________________

If I can't be enticed to a conference for SL, no one can. When me and another resident were told by a Linden that builds by and for kids were banned from SL5B, part of their reason was that they wanted SL5B to be "more like SLCC" in order to make it more appealing to RL businesses. For some reason, I could only think of that panel (which included a demonstration of a RL 'marital aid' that could work based on SL, um, 'input') and the infamous Stroker parties at past SLCCs. _____________________
