This all started two days ago.
I'll be just fine, and then I'll go to move and black smoke poofs out of me and I zip across the room really fast! If there is a wall near me I shoot right through it.
The only things I have new in the last two days are the Forum Cartel Hud and a new Mysti Tool.
I've detached both and it still happens.
I've detached ALL and removed all clothing and it still happens.
It happens randomly and is quite shocking when it happens.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
FaTeke Wottitz

Sounds like something that used to happen to my partner. He would be flying and go to land, but it's like he wouldn't completely stop flying, so he'd be "walk flying" which was more like..zipping around the room/land at incredible speeds, bouncing waaaay off anything that got in his way *unless he just went right through it completely*. My suggestion is to try to press your fly button when it happens and then press it again so that you fly for a second and then reland.. That always reset my partner so he could walk normally again.

That sounds like my Omniphazer. When worn, a quick double-tap on the move-forward arrow TPs me forward some distance I set between 10-100 meters, with effects like smoke or stardust or whatever. Since it's a TP it does move me through walls, but not always. Sometimes if the distance is insufficient to get me through something I bounce off walls instead.
Try double-tapping your move-forward arrow to see if you can make it happen again.
Did you try opening your intentory and entering WORN in the search window to make sure you don't still have something attached?

Thank you for trying to help me with this issue.
This is not just a laggy flight pattern as black smokes poofs out of me.
I've never purchased any kind of multigadget that has this feature, but as I said in my original post I have "detached all" and even removed all of my clothes so that I had nothing but a shape and a skin and it STILL happened.
It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes hours go buy without it happening and then BAM I shot across the room poofing the whole way. LOL
Could someone be doing something to me?
A while back a friend offered me a hug, and I accepted, why wouldn't I you know?
Anyway, after that my AV started passing gas, loud with poofer effects. Then I started dancing.
Finally he told me that when I accepted his hug I had actually given him permission to do things to my AV. Needless to say I was really pissed about this and I told him and he swore that he removed/stopped whatever it was. But did he? I have no idea how this works but could whats happening to me be a similar sort of thing?
While this isn't the most pressing issue in the world it is very annoying so I hope someone here can shed some light on it for me.
Thanks much, FaTeke Wottitz

The persistence of animation permissions, which is what that hug issue was, is a known problem. I agree that it's annoying, and it's certainly an example of the way significant security problems can be introduced because of incomplete analyses. I don't know whether any discussions or plans for fixing it are in the Jira database but you might try looking there.
I'd be surprised if this is the same problem that's causing you to fly around, but it's possible. Two other possibilities are that someone is griefing you subtly, or even that there's a sticky key on your keyboard.
I suggest the following: Start by logging out, then logging into a different sim. You may need to adjust your preferences to allow you to specify a different location when you login.
Once you've logged in, reattach your Mystitool. Use it to stop all animations, configure it to notify you of collisions (at least for a while), and configure it to turn on movelock (again, at least for a while). You might also want to make sure you've turned off the flight assist in Mystitool right now.
If Mystitool reports collisions that seem unexpected, that could imply a griefer. If the problem seems to have gone away after you've spent some time like this, then reconfigure Mystitool to your liking. (Now is a good time to start learning about its many features.)

I could be a "follower" if it happens in the same areas. Scan for scripted objects in your area.

Have you by chance swallowed a jet engine lately? I'm sorry, FaTeke...I know this is disturbing to you, but I'm just howling with laughter picturing this. I'd help if I could, but I haven't a clue.

Except when it first happens because its so sudden and startling. lol I'm sure its not the mysti tool since it happens with that off. But I haven't tried to log in at a different region. I'll do that and see if it goes away. Thanks for all of the help, I'll report back soon. FaTeke

Clothing can't contain scripts - only prims can - so you should get dressed again. Please. Really.

When something funny like that happens to me. I always sit down then stand back up. If that doesnt work, I log off and back on. It seems to fix a lot of silly problems.

From: Jackson Racer Yipes! you mean if you do accept one of those hug thingers they can nab your money too? No, not unless you grant a very special permission (DEBIT) that pops up in a scary orangy-colored window that talks about taking money from you. Agreeing to that would be a Very Bad Idea(TM). The problem with persistent permissions for Debit is really much more serious than the persistent animation problem, since animation scripts can only range to a sim and its neighbors, whereas debit hits your L$ balance wherever you're located, and there's no way to find out which objects have which permissions, nor to cancel a permission once granted. (I actually rather like the persistent animation thing; given the right scripting, it can save some user interaction steps.) Oh, right, the topic: my vote is on a follower, too--unless it repeats itself after TPing to a different sim, in which case that ain't it.

Okay mystery solved. I tried logging in at a different sim without luck. Following up on what someone else had mentioned in this thread I tried hitting the forward key several times quickly and POOF off I went. So I knew it was something I was wearing. So I took everything off and detached all. Then one by one I started putting them all back on and quick tapping the forward key. It didn't happen again until I put on my Conovers Flight Helper (best flight helper out there by the way) Turns out the fight helper had an update a few days ago and they added something called "teledash" and it was automatically on. Once I turned it off all was well. Why would anyone want teledash? What purpose could it be used for? Strange feature if you ask me. lol Anyhoo, thank you all for the laughs and for trying to help me figure this out. FaTeke p.s. still a bit puzzled by why, yesterday, when I was attachmentless and naked it still happened but I'll chalk it up to the fickle nature of SL.

From: MoxZ Mokeev a flexi skirt is a prim. As are many boots. There are puffy sleeves and puffy cuffs and other such clothing items made from prims where scripts can hide.

Yeesh.. I meant clothes clothes, not prim clothes!
If the icon in your inventory doesn't look like a box, it can't have scripts in it.

FaTeke Not certain because I don't frequent them, but I think that kind of ultra-fast move is useful in combat sims, for extremely rapid and unexpected attacks from a distance or for equally sudden retreats. Or for RP'ing The Roadrunner (BEEP-BEEP!) or the revered Speedy Gonzales (Yee-ha, Ah-ha, Arriba!) Don't ask why he is revered. That never appeared in the actual cartoons, and cannot be posted on a PG forum
