If so, let us know so we can rehearse our cheerleading! *activates her clapping gesture*

Thought about it but I get the impression it's for the commercial types. EDIT: Just re-read. Needs real world contact info so that leaves me out. I don't have any!

From: Bodhisatva Paperclip Thought about it but I get the impression it's for the commercial types. hmmm ... certainly commercial folks are included, but it looks to me like its for anybody who would make a good human interest story. Like that set of folks with ... was it cerebral palsy? ... in Massachusetts, who collectively are Wilde Cunningham? That was in the Early Show spot on CBS. And Phil, cool! NOW I'll go check out your store.

Thought about trying it, but I realized two things: I hate and loathe being in front of the camera.. and that I really don't want to be driven crazier, if my relatives should happen so see something about it. Seriously, it's major fan-girl/boying sort of thing when that happens. Everyone in the family records/keeps it and never lets anyone forget...
I'm gonna pass for now.

If I thought my little authorized reseller stores, or my little blues club would be of interest to them, I would. But I think they're probably looking for the bigger fish

I sent them one. My angle was the ability to collaborate here, and how so much of the good stuff here doesnt depend on money. This is the side of SL that I would like to see pushed, whether LL are interested in developing this as a PR theme, remains to be seen. I included the Forum Cartel Hangout as an example of this ethos. I put forward my latest machinima as an example of collaboration, the delightful Marianne McCann ( who lives on a different RL continent from myself) participated in it. And the ever-helpful AWM Mars hepled me to make the final rendering. I feel blessed indeed to have the participation of such awesome talents. sighs.......Only in SL

Thing is, I am putting together a new project in SL, that I was going to pay a fee to get my press release about my SL project on the wire services. Now I can chuck the $80 or put it towards other things. Yippee!!!

It's only my imagination, but I imagine that they would be interested in anything that is of interest. If I thought they were only looking for the big players, I certainly wouldn't have emailed, cos I'm not one.

I sent a note. For some reason, though, I doubt I'd end up accepted. Mari

They want real life info. I prefer to remain semi-anonymous. Shame really, I'd love the publicity for Danielle Harrop, but not for my real life identity. Would you believe I checked out Second Life because I saw someone interviewed on a news program? She was a stay at home mom who logged into SL in the evenings and talked about the friendly environment, and how she could go out every night, without the expenses of a babysitter or anything else. [/size] Shortly after that, i took the plunge and logged in for a few minutes......[ edited because: Why oh WHY does html keep attacking my posts?!?!?

It would be nice if some of the little guys got some press, but I'm too jaded to see that happening I guess. Even if LL's intentions are that, and possibly so, I think all the media outlets will want are the Big Shots, the Mom and Pop operations just won't be sexy enough for them. It doesn't hurt to try though.

I really would, but I doubt I would be of any interest and I don't own a business. I'd rather not drag things into RL too if I can help it, though that isn't the only thing stopping me.

We were dead slow last night (I blame American Idol, seriously) and it may be slow tonight for the same reason. But we're got live entertainment Friday night!
