How do I request that the lindens reclaim some unowned and un-buyable land in my sim? Its next door..and I was fine with it just sitting there until some newbie decided to litter it with freebie crap, even when asked to stop.. so.. how do I request a reclaim?

Jack or Soft Linden might be able to help. Just curious, how is it unowned?

Technically it IS owned. But....by a group that no longer exists. Its been that way for almost 2 months now, but I didn't mind. My partner lived on it even once she didn't own it for a while, though now it's usually completely empty (Ive used it for a couple quick things for a large open space)

Now however a new person..well..3 actually, all from one group, have rezzed a newbie house (Slightly furnished), two cars, a fence, and a helicopter. All freebies, and all are for sale too! Its ugly, pointless, and they have no right to it (The helicopter is upside down too...). So I'd prefer to have the lindens take it now considering its being used apparently to resell freebies and just make the area a bit uglier.

Getting someone to do something about abandoned land can backfire, as I found out. Some land next to my place was abandoned and got littered with horrible large, encroaching structures. I contacted support and the stuff was rapidly removed.
Then I asked if I could buy the land and LL said they'd put it up for auction. I bid for the 1024 and was winning until the last minute when I was outbid. The guy who bought the land has done nothing with it but has now put it back for sale at 3 times what he paid for it.

Since anyone can build on it, you can fill it up with underground prims so at least no more junk appears ...

Offer him a slight premium on what he paid and then wait it out. With the amount of land for sale right now, chances are that it won't move at the price he is asking.

Normally, highlighting how much they lose in tier if they don't sell to you soon makes them amenable within a few weeks.

Something like:

You: "I would buy your land for <what he paid +10%>
Him: "No way! I want <much more>!
You: "Good luck. Remember that you are paying $$ tier every month for that. Anyway, my offer stands."

Then IM him some weeks later to inquire.

For me, that tactic worked several times.

Hi Oki :)

I had a similar issue, although the land was owned by a long-gone account. (Something is wrong with LL's land reclaiming process these days... we are seeing a lot of these abandoned parcels sit around for months without reverting to the Govnah.)

I solved it by going through Support, LL's currently recommended method. I filed a ticket providing the details, and because tickets sometimes take a while, I followed up a day later with a live chat. I referred the helper to my ticket, and within a few minutes they were out looking at the land. It reverted to LL later that night, and was up for auction the next day (which fortunately I won, but it wasn't cheap).

From the time I filed the ticket to the time I got the land was about 4-5 days.
