Every Shape on my Avatar is BUGGED

So, I saw a free skin by chip midnight. Went to his store, picked it up. It was the Beowulf one. It came with a full Beowulf setup, clothes and all. So I was just screwing around, put it on, was just being a goof.

Then, it was time to put my regular shape back on. I immidately noticed that my shape had a strange distortion around my mouth. My lips potruded around the edges (my entire mouth is raised a bit) and I've got a weird "knob" sticking out below my lips, and above the buldge of my chin. These shapes cannot possibly be rendered with normal SL sliders. So I freaked, and relogged. I came back and nothing changed. So I tried on some other shapes and they ALL had these features. Flat lips, raised edges around the mouth and a knob on the chin. I have NO idea what the hell caused this.

I then took one of my shapes that I created myself and passed it to my wife, who tried it on. It looked just fine on her screen. So then, I reinstalled my client. Logged back in, IT'S THE SAME! My shapes are eternally screwed up on my avatar, no matter what shape I change into. These weird bugs are viewable by EVERYONE, even myself. Everybody can see it on my avatar, I can see it on my avatar. If I give the shapes to someone else to try on, they look normal.

Anyone have any clue what could have caused this? I'd hate to walk around SL forever looking like this. Especially since I'm nearing the end of releasing a large skin line and havent taken any pictures of the faces yet. Also, this doesn't help a whole lot with the process of making customs for my clients either. The mouths look all kinds of messed up.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'll be putting in a support ticket but...we all know how that goes.

Thanks,

You sure you aren't still wearing some sort of attachment from the beowulf setup? check to see what you are wearing by typing worn in your inventory window at the top see what comes up near the mouth area. if not, i know there is a way to fix it but im not inworld to talk you through it properly.

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

might be as Maggie said, though searching for worn doesnt always help me. Though it would be useful to see what it is if you are wearing something.
Try 'detach all' and see if it makes a difference?

I've never seen this, either, but I'd try the "Test Male" avatar from the debug menu (variously called "Client" and "Advanced" in the released and Release Candidate viewers), accessible by Contol-Alt-Shift-D), under Character / Character Tests.

I have. I have a building alt whose face has a HUGE lump on the side of it no matter what I do. It's a little ridiculous, and I'm really happy he isn't my main avatar.
Hope someone knows something, I'm curious about this one as well.

I have run into this problem before. From your description, I'm 100% sure it is the same thing. I don't have a magic fix for you, but I have some good news. If you are not in a rush, this problem seems to fix it's self after a bit of time. I can't tell you how, but some of my messed up shapes regained their former look after a few days. If you are in a bind, like I was, and need the shapes ASAP (I had a custom job with a deadline), here's is what I did:

1. I wrote down on paper each and every single slider setting for the shape (they had not changed through the unusual distortions).

2. I then created a new shape in my inventory and tried it on to see if the distortions showed up. In my case the new shape was fine. I edited a few facial settings to test it. Still good.

3. I duplicated the old shape on my new shape from the notes I took. The end result stuck without issue, and I was able to make my delivery to the customer, whom I made aware of the issue.

4. I also made full permissions backups and gave them to one of my Alts.

I realize this will only help with modifyable shapes, but it is better than being completely screwed. You may at least salvage your own work.

Yup,

I've had a weird bug like that when making male shapes sometimes.....suddenly I'll grab a pre-existing shape to make a new one....and it looks like he's got a wad of chew in the side of his jaw. LOL It does correct itself...it's got to be some kind of graphics rendering issue since it's in the mesh itslf...and the mesh can't just up and morph like that on it's own. *sigh* Try clearing cache and relogging......but it probably will just go away on it's own. I've yet to see a real explanation for this bug....but it does happen!

I think you had better "Ruth" yourself and see if that clears it - desperate measure, I know.

First, clear cache.
Second, take off everything and detach everything. For those things that can not be taken off (shape, eyes, etc) put on a different item.
Third, clear cache again.

And finally, put everything back on like it should be ONE THING AT A TIME. That way, if a certian itme is bugged, you can catch it.

It's a well known glitch. All NCI locations have a "deruth" or "deglitch" rocket that tosses you up to over 700m which usually fixes this problem.

Rezz a prim, sit on it, change the height to 750m.

I'd also recommend that after clearing cache you log in using Show Start Location in Edit Preferences to a sim with nothing on it like... Rosedale...

This forces a reload of your inv among other things, which in turn magically fixes any number of problems. Just be sure to set your cache to clear before you relog.

If this doesn't work the first time, open your map and TP to one of the nearby empty sims like... Kapor. The almost completely empty vehicle sims are also nearby.

Btw when TPs aren't working you can still TP to Rosedale 99% of the time (it's magic, I tell ya!), and from there, TP to wherever you want to go. Use your map, search for Rosedale, TP there, feel the Philip love, be happy.
