Hi

I dont know if anyone has had any trouble djing in SL for the past few weeks? Up until a couple a weeks ago everything was working fine and then my SAM program started to state error message "Can update music stream fast enough, stream paused" . Now I have checked everything and my SAM is working properly and my isp is fine. Its working better now, but not a 100 per cent like it did before.

So I was wondering if anyone else had this prob and what did they do got retify it>

My stream is a shoutcast and bitrate is 96kps

Would appreciate any info and help

Sounds like you have a bandwidth issue. You may be running too many programs at once. Check what programs you have running and try to eliminate the ones you don't need running when SAM is up.
It's also a good idea to clean cache and restart your system before you start DJing in SL.

I'd have to agree, that seems like a bandwidth issue to me. Though your ISP may call all clear, it could have been an intermittent issue resolved before you called or gone unnoticed (Intermittent issues are very hard to diagnose and lock down.), or the most likely case they simply deny the problem and lie that its all fine and it's your computer.

Also if you are behind a router be sure it is operating properly or that anyone else you are sharing the connection with is not taking up all your bandwidth. I recently upgraded my network to the Gigabit standard to avoid network flooding. In other words preventing communication between computers (IE sending print tasks to a shared printer.) from having as great an impact on internet bandwidth.

I have also notice a slight though marked improvement with our ISP connection since upgrading to the Gigabit standard from the 10/100 standard I was using. Seems they neglected to tell us we needed Gigabit lan between the modem and computer/network to get full advantage of our service package. Also explains why test still showed we were still getting the old package.

Sorry if this is all going over your head. I tend to get on a roll and forget that people don't always understand the things I do as a profession computer technician.
