Age verifcation options

I already seen a topic that touches on Age verif.

But this is what I say.. We need more options to do so. I'm 23, I don't drive thought I do have my state issued id that I had to get to go to a con I wanted to .. for proof of who I was. So I go to the site and give it a go. Though it doesn't have a bleeping option for state issued id. So I tried to use it as a "drivers licences" to see if it would work nope. So I go file a ticket and found you can manually do it through your ticket... BUT WAIT! you have to have a copy of a utility bill clearly displaying your name and address. I live with my mom cause I am disabled .. I don't at any utilities let alone get any income at this point. So I go well bleep I can't do that..

So who agrees with me that they need more options?

you can use the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number instead of drivers license.


Would they take a copy of that portion of your disability check as opposed to a bill?

You'd think that would be reasonable. Since you seemed willing to provide the bill?

Thing is I don't get a check... Blame the goverment, but I am fighting the bleeps

and I don't even know the last 4 digits of my SS .. I lost my SS card.. and without it .. its like.. sigh .. But I did lose it in my room so I know no one has stolen it lol just I got papers everwhere.. wonder would they take a medical bill?

A bit of free advice, take it or leave it...log off SL and go find your SS card. Its kind of an important thing to have.

I don't know if they will, in my opinion thats just as credible as a utility bill though.

You can get a new social security card with your birth certificate. Go to any SSA office, they will help you out.

You should do that regardless.

If you need a new birth certificate you can get one mailed to you. The town where you were born is required to have a records system in place.

I think you need more than just a birth certificate now. When I had to get my son's social security card reissued when he was a year old (which was almost 4 years ago), I took his birth certificate into the local social security office and they informed me they needed additional proof of ID since a birth certificate is no longer considered proof of existence. Since he was only ONE, for goodness' sake, I didn't have any other ID for him. I ended up having to take a copy of the information page of his medical file showing that he had had a doctor's appointment for immunizations just before I went to the office. So, you might want o check the social security website, but other's on here are right. It's very important to have your number. Your mom should have it, though, in the meantime, especially if she ever claimed you as a dependent on her income tax return. It will be on there.

Your Mom should have your SSN somewhere at home. Additionally, your Doctor's records have your SSN in most cases, if you choose to use that method of verifying.
