Hey everyone,
How would I go about trying to run more than one SL at a time? I tried to search the fourms but I really didn't get any results. Thanks to whoever helps me in advance.

Yes, this is possible, as long as your system resources suffice (memory, processor speed, etc.). In order to do so, start your client with the "-multiple" option on the command line.

Hi Smithy,
Right click on your SecondLife icon on the desktop; choose "Properties." In the Shortcut tab, in the "Target" field, add

-multiple

to the end. Be sure to add a space BEFORE the dash.

Your line would look something like this:

"C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" -set SystemLanguage en-us -multiple

Thanks for replying everyone! By chance, is there a way to make it so that your avatar will not log out of second life for being inactive for a period of time? Because I would find this useful for when I get phone calls and have to leave my computer room for a while.

To keep SL from shutting me off for inactivity I do Client - Character - Character Tests - uncheck Go Away / AFK When Idle.

Someone may respond here saying that this doesn't work for them, and maybe it doesn't work for them, but it does work for me; I set it this way just lately while testing as a result of seeing the same question asked recently, and it definitely keeps my avatar alive and not logged out.

You can also adjust the Away Timeout up to ten minutes on the Preferences General tabl in the middle of the dialog box.
