Found a 16m Hole in My Land

I found a 16m hole at the corner of my land. It is on a sim boundry. I fixed it easly but I wonder how it happened. the is a parce in the sim next door to it (diagnaly across it). I wonder if the Linden who set up that parcel for auction might have acciedently lowered it. I checked and my land is not set for anyone to teriform. Any thoughts on this?

Do you actually own the 16sqm piece where the "hole" appeared? It sounded like you were implying that, so just wanted you to make it clear.

Land terraforming of any touching land can have impact on yours. Terraform your own land at the edges and watch how the touching parcels are affected.

The land that was teriform was diagnaly from mine, not right next to it and it was just a 16m square that was lowered.

What Talarus asked earlier, are you SURE it's yours, that little piece. Because sometimes, it's not. It can be sitting right in the middle of your land, a 16m piece, and not be included in your parcel. See if you can right click on it, all by itself, that 16m spot and see if it actually has your name as owner.

Check your land settings; you do not state in your post that you have terraforming disabled for all residents.

diagonally or not, a 16 sq meter parcel next to or diagonal can affect all 'cells' around it.
