i get this message:
Login failed.
The system is logging you out right now. Your Account will not be available until 2009-08-30 11:34:30 Pacific Time.
I wait until a couple minutes after the time it says, then I get the same error message with a later time. Its usually five minutes later.
This just started happening today. I tried rebooting. Any suggestions?

Hmm- the usual clear cache thing perhaps? If that doesnt do it- try reinstalling SL- have you tried logging in with an alt?

This happens to me every time I crash, but I just ignore the time and keep trying and usually get back inworld within 5 min max.
However, that said, SL is a bit wonky today. Also, you could have a ghost in a half crashed state. _____________________

And just cuz the Grid Status page says an issue is RESOLVED does not mean it really is -- LL has a different definition of that word that most of us do. Too true. They did give us a hint this time though. All in-world activities should be functioning normally. Now think about how SL normally functions. That's what we're back to. Yay. _____________________

Any suggestions? Thanks As Lil said, it sounds as though your avatar may be "ghosted" - caught in a halfway state between logged in and logged out. If you have an alt or a friend you can communicate with offline, some tricks to release a ghosted avatar include paying the avatar L$1, sending the avatar an IM or two, pushing the avatar over a sim boundary or ejecting the avatar from the parcel it's on. If after a couple of hours you still can't access your avatar, you may have to go to the support page of the web page and file a ticket (even basic/guest accounts can for certain issues) to get LL to restart the sim you are stuck on. _____________________

Any suggestions? Thanks Did you get logged in yet? I went for a scout round the grid yesterday, found loads of ghosted avatars, but not yours. If you still can't log in, have you contacted Support? If no success yet, give us a clue as to a SIM or a place you might have last visited. I can go and search round there (its fun for me - I am a geek!!!) |
