Rez, Rightclick, Wear, detach... CRAP!

Okay, so I screwed up. I didn't know I was screwing up at the time, but I did. The other day, I rezzed my chimera at work so others could more easily click it. When the set was over, rather than taking it back into my inventory and wearing it, I simply right-clicked and wore it.

Fast forward a couple of days, trying to get a belt adjusted, stupid 4k chim in the way, so just detached it. Once I was finished, went into my inventory to put my chim back on... and it's not there. I remembered I hadn't taken it back in my inventory after rezzing, so look around all over to see if it had simply "dropped" when I detached it. Nope. Went back to the club on the off chance it had ended up back there. Nope. So where is it??? *cries* I JUST bought a bunch of new dances too. Help? Any ideas where it went?

This sounds like a recurrence of a known bug. Sorry, I forget the JIRA issue number...but it has something to do with vanishing AOs and dance HUDs

Well, from what I've read about that, it seems a bit different. As in, it's still in the person's inventory while they're wearing it, and then when they attach, it leaves inventory to be with all the other lost inventory in the great unknown lol. This wasn't in my inventory, so is it related or something totally different?

Yeah, wearing from the ground is a bad plan for anything no-copy.

Basic accounts can ask for support for inventory problems now, you should find "There was an item in my inventory window, but it isn't working or is missing" in the ticket menu. If you're premium you may or may not get the problem handled more quickly.

Expect support to tell you to clear cache and all that on the first round, it's their job, they have to ask that. But the magic words are to ask for an "inventory restart" to retrieve your lost attachment, that should be enough so they understand what problem you are trying to fix.
