Help with new skin....

I purchased a new skin 2 days ago...paid 4k for it and now it's completely messing up.

Basically what is happening, I choose to wear the skin and it goes to the very first skin I purchased, when I choose another skin in this pack I purchased, it will transform the face, but keeps the rest of the other skin from my neck down.


I've waited for the rest of the skin to render (is that the correct term?) Actually I've been ingame for about an hour now and it's still looks like the above pic. I've TPed to a few different places hoping it was just my sim...but it isn't. Loved the comments I got too. So I know it's just not me seeing it. I was using the newest RC viewer and thought well maybe that it was a glitch, so signed in using the other viewer and still the same thing.



Anyway, I've contacted the creator, first by IM after wearing the skin for the first time, then when I didn't hear anything back from her, I sent her a notecard. Still nothing, and I'm trying to be as understanding as I can be about this since it's only been a couple of days, but am getting frustrated.

So I figured I would post here and hope someone knows something about what the hell is going on with this?

Possibly have a "fix" for this while I'm waiting on her to respond? I mean, anything you can think of that I can do to try to get this skin to work?

Have you tried clearing your cache and relogging? I had a similar problem the other day where a skin wouldn't load fully and the upper body was from a skin I was wearing previously...if I remember correctly clearing my cache cleared it up. There's really nothing the skin creator can do for you beside send you a new one.

Oh, to clear cache..Edit > Preferences > Network tab > then hit clear cache and you will have to relog.

Edit: Also try hitting ctrl+alt+r to rebake your textures.

Also try pushing CTRL+ALT+R at the same time. That rebakes textures and may do the trick. Good luck.

Yes, clearing my cache and relogging was one of the first things I did when this happened. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

I wouldn't normally be worried about something like this, but after teleporting around to a few different sims and speaking with a few people, seems they have had the same problems with this particular creators skins and have gotten no response from her either.
Actually the first comment someone made to me was "Hey, that's XXX's skin, I see you're having the same problems I had"

Ok, so I cleared my cache once again relogged and rebaked textures and it worked!

I did the whole clearing cache, rebaking several times before posting here and it didn't work, but tried it again on a different sim and got different results.

I removed my pics as not to cause problems for the creator in case someone recognizes it. I've also sent her an IM letting her know the problem was fixed.

When you first bought the skin and wore it, it showed up right, correct? If so, I don't think it would be the creators fault. But then again, so many odd things happen in world lately so who really knows. I had that same issue the other day, but it was skins I created myself..and I can't remember if I cleared cache or hit CTRL+ALT+R but I got it cleared up. Good luck to you
