When you get items returned and they go to your lost and found folder, all objects regardless of names, are coalesced into the one object which is returned to you named "anything". Anything being one of the names of one of the objects that were returned. Drop out anything in that folder to discover the contents.
In your case you may have had it selected when you picked it up on a previous occasion. (If it did not come from lost and found.)
Many upon tons of people "lose" inventory, bitch and moan and blame the system but the system is in fact saving them. They just don't know about it.

what was strange about this was in was not in my lost and found it was under objects. at one time or another had rez everything in my lost and found. this object i was not on the property when every thing was returned. how every thing ended up in the object is strange. when i first lost the stuff. i did every thing you were suppose to seb\veral times over. every thing in my lost and found was rezed. but oh well my stuff is back and i am happy.

You also have to be careful when you rez that coalesced folder of returned prims. If your entire house or business was returned, then you may have all those prims rezzing at one time on a sim. It's good to pick a pretty empty place when you do that.

A pretty empty place WITH atuo-return. For the prims you miss seeing. Also, rezzing things like this with EDIT mode already up helps. This automatically selects every prim of the coalesced group. The best thing to do at first is note how many prims TOTAL are int he group, then keep track as you pick them up one object at a time. This way, you know if you're missing something ^.~ ~Jessy
