Why, in preferences, is the enable voice chat box greyed out and a white sentense above it: "voice chat is not avaliable?"

Make sure you're in a region where Voice chat is available... Most infohubs and welcome areas have it enabled. (^_^)y

What Imnotgoing said. You just happen to standing in a parcel that has voice chat diabled in it's land setting.
