I'm Aiot. I created a sim a few months back called Aiot's Toon Wonderland. In the last few months I really have to say that watching the sim grow and become a living and breathing community has really inspired me.

Because of the nature of the sim (100% cartoon style), one can stand in one place and see the most creative people march by in a short period of time.

I guess with all of the SL economy issues, I think I'm glad that I can run through my cartoon forest and forget all about it.

I think it's time we focus on the fun, and from now on, I'm going to be less concerned about SL issues and more focused on BRINGING THE FUN BACK.

Any sim owners want to join my campaign to bring the fun back let me know. I keep finding stuff in world that I want to tell people about. Stuff that has no purpose except for to entertain and bring the life back to the zombies roaming SL. Not that I have a problem with zombies (I just created a crypt in my sim's underbelly for a zombie actually).

Yeah.. so. let's bring the fun back.

Update: Due to the overwhelming response so far about interest in BTFB 1.0 (BringTheFunBack), I will be setting up a makeshift headquarters somewhere in ToonTown for the Bring The Fun Back campaign.

Please do! maybe put together something like the recent Open House tour of forum-dwellers homes, only for wacky sims?

SL could use more wackiness, fer sure! People way too serious!

I too have decided to do something that puts fun back into SL

I have been working on a city build, that is not the normal "perfect" city in SL, and so far anyone that has seen it loves it

a lot of people think it is an RP sim, but it isn't, it is just place I decided to put together.

Eventually ppl will be able to live there and shop there, etc (some ppl already live there hehe)

if you are curious about this sim, go to your map and type in movix in the location tab
(the full sim name is Movix Media)

have fun exploring and remember , just like any city, there is always work being done, stuff being demolished, stuff being built

(ps I will soon be adding a "mail box" for ppl to drop comments in, it will be located in a few places throughout the city, so if you see a mailbox along the street, outside the office complex, or near the bar, or even in the sandbox, take a moment to tell me what you think of the sim (send me a letter) hehe

I shall have to make a point of taking a break and visiting your sim, in one of my Tinies avatars... Or maybe as a chibi-vixen...

Hey - all of us could use a reminder that SL is a wonderland where almost anything can and does happen. We could use some of the OP's attitude in RL too. I need to stop complaining about the obstacles and enjoy the fantasy.

I would love a collection of LM's to offbeat/inspirational/quality environments.

I know Bettina Tizzy has a group (I think it's called "not possible in RL" or something like that) that sends out announcements and LM's.

I haven't been around the forums a bit- and now have several sims I'd like to check out-

I think the idea of LM giver is a neat one, if maybe not a little counterproductive to keeping traffic in one's own sim.

hmmm...

gonna keep this in the back of my brain.

sim owners could put the lm giver on their sims and exchange lm's with each other

if a sim owner wanted to do that with me I would be up for it

(kinda like how ppl do links to each other's website, I think it used to be called link exchanging)

In one of the gardens (Svarga?) I picked up a dynomite tour HUD that perhaps could be used to introduce folks to a group of fantasy/fun sims. Looked pretty easy to use. Drop me an IM if any of you want me to dig it up for you ...

Check out the SL Parks and Rec Service; it's a listing of great parks that have all sorts of activies--sort of like a National Trust/National Parks listing for SL:

http://www.gabrielguyer.com/slparksandrec

Fun places, lot's of beauty, some surprises, nice people, and they have a free LM kiosk, or you can access listings through their website.

Aiot you know that i always love what you do...I've been promoting fun now for several months and have been building along that line. Littletoe has been a source of great inspiration and help to me as well. I miss the days of Taco and i want to see more completely pointless, drama free sims. Something we'd talked about for the pre-Halloween season is a Midnight Carnival, an old style carny meets circus. I have plenty of room for it, just not enough time until i get my store finished. It would be absolutely splendid to see a full tilt Candy Land or Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory for the holidays too if anyone is interested in that.

We are going to start some sort of LM giver in Toon Town. I have several LM givers now, but I'm thinking about putting together a large map in my store. My sim has been getting upwards to 450+ visitors a day, so a properly placed LM giver would really help in bringing the fun back.

Aiot launches BTFB 1.0 (Bring The Fun Back)

Please help me build the list if you know fun places to explore.

Hehe. I know about that. My latest mistake was creating a crevasse on my Toon Town level dumping about 10 people into the sim's underbelly (Halloween Town). Um. I really should put up those orange cones.

Ok, after talking to several sim owners, I'll be launching a BTFB kiosk in my sim. So far it will include a box for dropping in fun LM's and a notecard giver that explains what to look for.

For instance last night someone took me to a giant slide. I forgot to LM (it was late) and I would have no idea how to get back.

Any suggestions on what else my BRTB kiosk should have, let me know. I'll be working on this all weekend.

Putting the Fun back in Fundamentalism

We at the Forum Cartel agree wholeheartedly with this principle. That is why we strive to put the fun back into these forums (or should that be fora?).

I stink at tees. We do have three freebie avatars to help with the campaign though. Will probably set those up next to the kiosk.
