Why LL don't care about ATI customers? I have read some post about ATI bugs and all the time the answer is, buy a Nvidia or disable X or Y graphic options.
But what happens when you can't buy a Nvidia card cause you have finaly choose ATI for your all new configuration...

Please Linden Lab finish next viewer to fully support any ATI Radeon and with full options up.

-edit-
Anyway its maybe time to update the viewer to support (add) last graphics card don't you think? ...

I think it's the way ATI doesn't do as good a job using OpenGL as Nvidia does that makes the difference.

over the years I have used both NVidea and ATI cards with SL.

I have flat been told by Lindens that the problem with ATI is on ATI's end and how they implemented open GL. Simply put LL is never going to fully support ATI.

That said I honestly am not having problems with my current ATI cards. If there are glitches I just am not seeing them in SL. ATI was not my card of choice when I got this machine but I cant say I have been dissappointed. Even so next machine if humanly possible will be NVidea.

You are barking up the wrong tree, Vala, but we all understand your frustration. You could try asking for them to go to DirectX so that any modern video card manufacturer will be better supported, plus solve several glitches in the process like the alpha layering bug. That it will mean the loss of Linux and Mac users, however. It is all a trade off in the end.

Actually, it's the other way around. There is nothing SL can do in their software to fix faulty OpenGL support. It is ATI that has decided not to fully support SL or other OpenGL applications.

Rather than imposing even more limits on those who do not wish to be a participant in Microsoft's empire, why not contact ATI and demand that they provide better support for OpenGL in their drivers? Linden Labs are guilty of a lot of things that are wrong with their software, but this isn't one of them.

Actually I fully understand that the OP was going to demand LL change and this time it isnt thier doing really.

That's not exactly right. Surely ATi is the main culprit but LL could certainly implement existing fixes for ATi users.

Interesting. Good thing there's enough blame to go around.

Kinda wish they would release a DX version for us windows users and go on with the opengl version for mac/linux like some other games do.... the bugs like alpha rendering really do get annoying and I don't see why we should have to suffer them because some people won't join Microsofts tyrannical empire... (note the sarcasm :P i really don't have anything against mac users)
