I have been in SL for almost 2 years and, at least as far as my own use is concerned, have found it to be fairly stable with minimal crashes and little trouble rezzing. However somewhere along the line something happened and whenever I try to edit appearance, my computer freezes up and I have to power down to get out of it. Has anyone else ever had this issue and if so what have you done about it?

First step: Clear cache and relog.
If that doesn't work, come back and tell us what viewer you are using.
