Help with Preference Settings

I will start out by saying I am possibly trying the impossible here. I am in a hotel in Canada, using their "Wired Wi-Fi high-speed" connection, on a laptop that really is not designed for SL. HOWEVER, I have logged into SL with this laptop before -- less than a month ago even when I was on vacation in the mountains of Colorado, and that was using a horrid wireless connection.

So, when I try to log in this time, I am getting this error -- every time:



What settings, if any, might I modify to see about getting around this. I just want to get logged in to clear thru the mass of group notices that I always get and to take care of some land stuff. I had not even planned on leaving my house.

Maybe it is the firewall or they are using a proxy server in their net.
Try a connection with the service on http://www.your-freedom.net/
