I wonder if there is a way to change some of the default sounds in the viewer. The sound made when you hit a wood texture is kind of disturbing to me although this is a very minor thing.

You hear it when you walk up stairs that are too far apart and, for some reason, I hear it twice every time I log on. "Poonk! Thoop!"

It really sounds like a bat hitting a softball and I think my wrists almost ache with the imagined jarring from that. Or I cringe thinking my shins should hurt from running into a coffee table. Only for an instant. I supposed I could turn ambient sounds down. Or is there some other way? I do like birds and crickets and so forth.

Thanks.

There is a script called "Silent bounce" that's available in a lot of freebie shops. When you put it in your prims, it silences them so that they don't make a sound on collision. If you would like, send me an IM in-world and I'll give you a copy.

I believe you can turn it off the same way you can disable the typing animation, in the debug menu.

Turning down the UI slider can get rid of some stuff too without sacrificing birds, crickets, etc...

The thing which always gets me are water and fire sounds. Fire sounds a bit like water. Water makes me want to go to the loo!

I don't find that especially relaxing tbh.
