Good Saturday afternoon to you all...: )
What is an ad board exactly? Is it those big billboard looking signs that display a vendors merchandise on a scrollable and interactive menu driven thing I see in shops? I use arrows to pick the product, touch it for info on the product, then pay to get the product? Is that an ad board? If not, what is that called, and what is an average rental fee to have one of those up in a shopping area? It can't be the same as renting out shop space in a mall, where you get X amount of prims per week for 250 Lindens, or whatever.
Can anyone offer up a suggestion?
Thanks guys and girls!

It's known as a "vendor"
typically one vendor will have all the same creator's stuff (or a group if it's a multi-owner store)
You can buy vendors at Ab's Emporium in Monowai, and rent shop space at a mall, set up your vendors, and you're good to go.
** edit to add: You rent _space_ in the mall. You have to rez your own vendors.

I have mixed feelings about those ad boards you see to advertise products and services within SL.
It really depends on what your intention is for the boards. My business needs traffic and I do not want to advertise another location in SL. If the avatar clicks the sign, they are likely to get a LM and TP out of my location. Even for a few L$, it is not worth it.
Now if you have people that you don't mind sharing exclusive tp's with back and forth, it could be a good arrangement. Just my thoughts.

I have the same thoughts, wondering why the mall owner would want to encourage people to leave. However, it's great for me. Maybe he doesn't mind because he doesn't directly own the stores -- only takes rent from them. But I have a lower-guilt advertising experience: the billboards are not trashing up SL, since they are just inside his enclosed mall, where commercialism and flashy signs are part of the expected scenery. I get lots of takers on the notecards, because the crowd there is suited to my resort, unlike an ad-farm ad, where I can't imagine why anyone would ever click on one.
