Some Objects Just Don't Rez to View -- Anyone Hear of This?

my friend has a strange bug. sometimes not everything he should be able to see will rez in his viewer. for example, when he logs on, he often tells me my nose is missing. (from a prim tiger head). if i de/re-attach then it seems fine.

but lately, we have been looking at models at isle of wyrms cathedral, and EVERY time, over two different sessions, using two different viewer versions (he updated this week), parts of the anubis dragon just will NOT appear on his screen.

we checked all the usual culprits. first, the whole model IS rezzing (and in a timely manner), because i can see it fine. we tried rezzing it a few times in a row, in case of some net lag causing the data to go poof.
i checked all the advanced debugging render options to see if any caused the particular parts of the anubis dragon to disappear -- except for 'simple', which takes out about half the world (and would be real noticeable), none do.
checked render distance (we're right up on the model, he even walks through it)....

he said maybe he needs to re-install the viewer. i said, you just installed an update, isn't that (somewhat of) a reinstall?


so before i send him into the black pit of oblivion of support... has anybody had this happen, and did you find a solution? thanks!

ps: i just searched for this on the knowledgebase/jira/whatever.... can't seem to find anything. it isnt that the objects dont rez, they DO. they just dont draw on his screen.

how long does he wait before determining something isnt going to rez?
i am in australia and usually log on during peak times. the result it prim heavy builds take ages to rez, and they do it prim by prim.
i doubt it is a graphic problem. i suspect network/bandwidth issues.

I would recommend clearing the cache and manually deleting the whole cache folder before reinstalling completely, most of the times that helps.

Updates just get packed over the old data, it's nowhere near a reinstall.

Same here, My land has that problem big time. Seems me and my friend has that problem also. So we cleared the whole land and it still having the same issue.
Sometimes i can see things rezz an other times he can see it, All you have to do is if the other one sees it that person rt clicks on it and it will appear on that person screen, vise versa for his screen. Its very annoying at times, Cleared cache, reinstall client. again and again.. completely removed all files manually, Still to no avail .. Is there something worng with Sl ?

We have pics where he can see things we build and i cant see them.visa versa. now that s weird..
oh yeah same thing with prims like hair,, if i cant see his hair i rt click on it and wham its there same for him.,. Weird thing is i can walk to a part of a wall, its not there on my viewer but my ava cant move beyond that part. But to my edit mode that object is not there.. weird. like half the info knows its there the build mode " edit" doesnt respond to that section of the part " wall" same as with flooring..

Sorry so detailed just very frustrated at times always spending hr getting all the world to rezz so you can see all you built..
This all happened after the last update it seems..
