Does anyone know of a scripted tool available that can do the following? I have a Mainland sim which I would like to "scan" and then replicate the terrain of on a Private Island, precisely and not just by doing it freehand - i.e. using a RAW. I know there are objects which can terraform, and I know there are others that can scan the terrain and make sculpted maps, but have the two ever been combined? (Obviously if the Mainland sim were a Private Island, I'd just make a RAW and take it to the second sim, but that's not possible). Thanks in advance for your help!

Never used it, but http://www.nowherevirtual.com/landsculptor/help claims that, From: someone LandSculptor will generate a Terrain Raw file for you that you can either view in a Terrain Editor such as Backhoe or even upload back into Second Life to use in a different region. Please note that if you are the Estate Owner of the region in question, it is still preferable to use the Estate Manager Tools to dowload Raw files rather than using the one LandSculptor produces. Also, terraformers in Second Life spend considerable time creating landscapes, you should seek permission from the Sim Region Owner before using a Terrain Raw file of someone else's sim on your own sim.

Thanks for that, that seems to be exactly what I was looking for. I'll have a good read of the details. If I buy it I'll feed back here as to how useful it was or not.

Try Cadroe Murphy's stuff at spinmass.com too. Free, works great, also makes a scupltie of the land.
